I am an experienced UG gamer who has played Civil War and Age of Sail and came into this game knowing how the fight mechanics generally work. I started a normal campaign so that I could get used to the new game mechanics and town building before starting a legendary campaign. That said... It is February of 1776, Monreal and Quebec were taken a long time ago. But nothing happens since that time - I mean the map staying locked. Is it intentional or is it a bug or do I need to wait for something or the US campaign simply not finished yet?

Is this intentional? Every day and every battle I get a random event pop up, sometimes I get some goods other times one of my staff officers just gets annihilated. I had loyalty in Philadelphia go from 70% to 20% in a single day because I fought 3 battles and every time got a sabotage random event that nuked loyalty in the town. Are these supposed to happen so often?...

What is the best way to take a fort? Specifically the beginning of the US campaign. I was trying to move towards fort Ticonderoga but the line of forts seem to be extremely manpower intensive to take. Is there a good way to take them easily or is it best to by pass them?...
