解説
Toad from the Super Mario Bros series comes to Rivals! Toad is a fast and simple rushdown character with some crazy mechanics mixed in!

Moveset

Neutral Special: Item Block
Toad hits an Item Block, which releases a random Mario powerup or item! Many possible items can come out of the block (such as a coin, fire/ice/bubble flower, super mushroom, super star, and more), and each one functions differently. But be aware that opponents can steal these items, too!
This also functions as an attack in itself, and the item block can also be stored for later with parry, and used as a platform!

Side Special: Toad Kart
Toad gets into his kart and drives around! Can be exited and re-entered at any time, and you can hold parry to drift!

Up Special: Propeller Suit
Toad uses the propeller suit powerup! A simple, good multihit recovery. While hovering, Toad can hold down to do the drill part of the attack!

Down Special: Turnip
Toad grabs a turnip out of the ground! Can be thrown afterwards at different angles, and there's a chance you get special turnips, a pow-block, or even a bob-omb! If used in the air or special isn't held, Toad can grab opponents (and certain projectiles and items) instead!

Toad comes with his own stage; Toad House!

- Toad can perform a triple jump if you time your jumps right!

That sounds like the anti-cheapie feature? You can avoid it by holding Attack if needed, but it shouldn't trigger much unless you're using Ronald or something haha.

sometimes when i use toad he just supersizes at the beginning of the game, and gets a full stat boost is this normal or is it a feature?

tbh it would be cool if toad could help his team with the power ups well only the mushroom and mega mushroom

Make sure both of you have the newest version; sometimes Steam is very slow at getting new updates unfortunately. Toad hasn't been updated since June, but it's still most likely this due to how slow it can be!
Anyways, you can force it to update by unsubscribing and resubscribing (just make sure to re-launch the game as well afterwards)!

After that you should be able to play as the character, assuming you both have the latest version. Hope that helps you!

helpppppp toad dosn't work online even though my friend has him too :(

He mostly just appears as a fun rare thing, but he has 2 niche effects as well: He gives you 10 coins, and when rising he can actually hit players (so you can get some very funny kills with some great luck)!

I recreated it pretty easily, so I guess it's just a strategy that went over our heads, haha. Fixed in next patch!

Several of those are similar boss characters so I'm not so sure on those, though the base cast one is weird if you got a bubble instakill there too. Generally the bubble does pop pretty quickly, and doesn't go up to the top blast zone like that.
It could be some jank with CPUs but I'm not sure, haha. I'll patch it if there is a genuine thing here though.

It also works on Boss Astra & Boss Hikaru & I did it to one of the base cast (I forget which one) in training mode. The only character I've tried it on who it didn't work on is Boss Mayu because she somehow just pops the bubble immediately even if she's stunned.
