I don't find there to be anything wrong with a strong AI, but our CPUs could scale better with level and be less aggressive at the lower levels maybe, so I've made some tweaks to it!
Hopefully lower levels feel better now while not having level 9 be any weaker.
As for other characters, keep in mind that not all of them are up to date with the latest base CPU version, and some have less custom behavior than others!
Puff for example has some custom behavior, but doesn't have the newest base AI right now. Ideally everyone will get it eventually though!

I had bubble flower & mega mushroom & was spamming down smash. I had runes for permanent items, permanent mega mushroom, no poison items, & rare turnips. I'd also died several times. I hadn't been attacking crystals so maybe too many crystals was part of it.
That sounds like the anti-cheapie feature? You can avoid it by holding Attack if needed, but it shouldn't trigger much unless you're using Ronald or something haha.
Make sure both of you have the newest version; sometimes Steam is very slow at getting new updates unfortunately. Toad hasn't been updated since June, but it's still most likely this due to how slow it can be!
Anyways, you can force it to update by unsubscribing and resubscribing (just make sure to re-launch the game as well afterwards)!
After that you should be able to play as the character, assuming you both have the latest version. Hope that helps you!
He mostly just appears as a fun rare thing, but he has 2 niche effects as well: He gives you 10 coins, and when rising he can actually hit players (so you can get some very funny kills with some great luck)!
I recreated it pretty easily, so I guess it's just a strategy that went over our heads, haha. Fixed in next patch!
Several of those are similar boss characters so I'm not so sure on those, though the base cast one is weird if you got a bubble instakill there too. Generally the bubble does pop pretty quickly, and doesn't go up to the top blast zone like that.
It could be some jank with CPUs but I'm not sure, haha. I'll patch it if there is a genuine thing here though.
That's almost certainly something weird with the other character, haha. Though if you notice it on other characters too or anything, I'll definitely check that out!
Yeah personally I like all 3, haha. Glad you enjoy them though!
And me too, a bunch of my favorites are Gamecube games lol (Wind Waker, Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, etc)
Hi, I checked this for myself, but nothing strange happened. It's possible that your installation of either Toad or Luigi is buggy, as this rarely happens, so you could try to reinstall both characters to be sure.
Not sure what else it could be than that, so hopefully that helps!
Hi, you can just hit Toad and then he won't get said powerup (unless he grabs it of course), and it will become much easier to steal. Additionally, standing on the powerup still allows you to take it even without hitting him as well! So I hope that helps!
Like the amount of options and versatility your characters tend to have is beyond like any standard amount. I love the spritework and ideas but like, some of these characters need to be tuned back a lot.
For example: Toad should not automatically get the power ups after hitting the block, and should instead have to grab them. This will make the opponents able to grab it easier instead of having absolutely zero chance of stopping Toad from just racking up an extreme amount of power ups and advantages.
For Toad, coins don't do too much and are mostly a blank roll, since NSpec is a decent attack even without an item anyway. However, he can get a 1-up if you hit 100!
And for Toadette and Toadsworth, coins have other effects (Toadette gets a speed boost for having more coins, and Toadsworth can get stars if he has 20+ coins).
Also not necessarily planned, but if people want we could add more tips and info about moves within Toad's phone!
While the others toads gets to get cool code, I meanwhile atleast try it :c
1_Toad
2_Captain Toad
3_Manuel Toad
lmao I tested for myself and I still loosed twice xd
That said, it's obviously nice to hear you don't have it, it's a pretty annoying bug, haha.
