I feel so stupid cause i'm stuck after 15min (in the forest, can't find it)
1) I used a website called waifu2x to double the image size without losing quality and then scaled it in GIMP by 75% and that got the 32x32 sets to 48x48.
2) I'm hoping to change the beginning in the next update of the demo to slow it down and not make the story so fast-paced. I will also give the player more enticement with Arietta and Colette's motivations.
3) I'm also hoping at some point to set up battle tutorials INSIDE of the battles, i.e., when the player hits the first random encounter of the game it starts up the tutorial in that scene. Interactive learning is the best way to engage the player but currently I have the fairy set up until I can make that happen.
4) It must not be as clear as I thought it was, but ordinary humans can't see the wings of the Fallen, only the Harbinger can. Thanks for pointing that out, I will have to clearly express it in the new intro.
Thank you very much for commenting!
But I didn't understand the battle system. It needs better tutorial then chat with fairy.
Also story seems interesting, but storitelling isn't very good. It's too fast, at first. Motivation of characters as it shown isn't satisfying. Arietta hear strange sound, and... goes to the forest, at night, alone. Is she crazy?! Maybe make Colette fall near her house, or make Ariette say something 'Well, I know forest is safe place". She see Colette's wings aind understand that she is fallen. And without much concern or fear bring her to house. The only thing she knew about fallen that they are monsters, but she believe Colette without any doubts! Maybe make her to think about what do with the girl little more?
Also, no one paid attention to the purple-winged angel in the chuch. So wings isn't sometnig uncommon? Or maybe make the character wear a cloak at first, and then he take it off and show wings?
I hope mu advices will help. Game is very beautiful!
Pros:
-I love the scenary in pretty much every map, top notch, keep that up.
-The battle system is super interesting. I never really played the tale's games myself but judging from what I see here, it's quite fun to play around with.
Cons:
-The pacing is SUPER FAST. I couldn't even catch my breath before all this information was dumped on me. Maybe ease up on it a bit? If that's what you're going for, then keep rolling.
-Personal tidbit, not a fan of the story as a whole, but don't let that sway you. Not every story is going to be loved by all.
Overall, I enjoyed it for what it was worth. I know it's still a demo but those are my quick and simple thoughts. Nothing too nitpicky I hope.
Keep up the good work, lookin forward to future updates!

i also checked for the battlers there are no files or img that is named that but the actor and the batter sprite or the same character so idk if thats related
pulling up the menu gives me the error 'failed to load:img/menus/faces/faces3/actor_1.',
also entering battles gives me error 'failed to load:img/lmbs/battlers/Colette%5Bidle%5D.png'.
Now i did this after updating my os, also if i were to re try dl this id either have to use wine which means ill have too redownload steam, rpg maker and this which would take a considerable amount of time or use a vm which would take even longer btw am using this on playtest mode idk if this would be causing the problem and i need to make it into a playable file first but either way trying to run it on ubuntu directly isnt working
Is this game a demo as in it is a preview while you make the rest of the game?
All the same pros as in before plus these two:
1) WOW! How did you do that battle system? I have no idea how you implemented that and I am very impressed.
2) My first impression of the dialouge was a bit hasty, it was better than I thought I really like it when the characters talk while you are walking.
This is an amazing game, if you ever want help developing it just let me know!
Pros:
1) Tilesets and lighting very good obviously a lot of work went into it.
2) Your character art is excellent very impressed
3) That is a gorgeous menu screen, my jaw dropped when I pressed escape.
4) Mapped very well it really feels like a forest and a village. I wish I had your skills when it comes to art and stuff.
Cons:
1) The text and dialouge so far has been a little lackluster compared to the quality of the rest of the game.
I would be happy to work with you and help the dialouge come alive a little more if you like, :)(Totally understand if you don't want help lots of people like working alone.)
Anyways I have only played a small amount will probably play the whole thing tommorow after I get some sleep.
Coincidence, huh, even for the name? Heh that's great!
Actually, kind of thought it was likely a coincidence, well not so much for the name maybe, but the character herself, appearance and personality wise are actually pretty different. Well either way, nothing wrong with being influenced by a good (series of) game(s). Woo!
I look forward to seeing what you do with this in the future!
@Slycep Thank you! I'm very glad you enjoyed it!
With the issue of Colette, yes, I do realize she shares some design appearance similaries with Colette from Tales of Symphonia, but that is where it ends. She actually isn't even based off of that Colette, her original design comes from an OC my best friend made many years back. I love the Tales games however and have taken a lot of influence from them.
But I do have a bit of constructive criticism:
So I noticed when playing that a lot of signs and such could be read standing in the wrong direction, so, I get the feeling you're placing the event on the ground. This can be easily fixed though by placing it on the wall in front of where the player is standing. You may want to change the priority setting in the event editor to “Same as Character”. Alternatively you can use a conditional branch, go to the third tab of the conditional branch, then check character and switch the drop down menus so it says something along the lines of “Player is facing up” or whichever direction they’re facing.
@saulocvg The voice work is original except a few lines Colette has that I've used the ones from the demo. I am aware of this but didn't want to delay the demo release due to it. All of the lines will be original in a future update. The voice volume was lowered in patch v1.1 which is not on the Workshop version yet. (Mainly because I'm not sure how to update it without uploading an entire new submission.)
If you're referring to the battler sprites, yes, its all original art made for the game, thank you!
