It works fine. Press F8 and pull the distance until the stipe shadows are gone. Then play with the intesity. I love it, and its a must have mod.

@Cao Cao doesn't know wtf he's talking about and kids with tiny GPU's are using this on old versions that don't understand what it does. This mod used to run beautifully on a modern GPU with high population counts. Doesn't really matter because they mod is broken in later verisons and CO does not appear to care at all about enhancing the visual fidelity of their great game. I'm unsubscribing from this toxic thread.

I found a bug but if I zoom in and have the camera in a top down (Sort of like a satelite image) These weird topography lines appear. It is not because of another mod, as I tried it with all other mods disabled. Maybe its just my computer and graphics card.

There's no reason why this wouldn't work. Try loading a fresh save with just this enabled - if there're any errors then you're all good.

It's pretty shocking that Paradox hasn't included this, it's such a massive improvement to the overall game. I'd rather have this than frickn' snow that does nothing to traffic.

@Baleur Agreed. I'm sure someone would be happy to ressurect this.

All I know is, my game hasn't been the same since not realizing this wouldn't play nice with AD. :(

If dev has stopped do you have any suggestions how to possibly fix this? Like what mod conflict might cause it or another post-processor we could try to use? I think it did the same thing when you initially released it and it was resolved somehow but I can't remember how.

Anyway, thanks for this mod, it served me well. :steamsad:

One of my fav mods but as mentioned already, since AD I have "banding" of the occlusion. Gonna try to resolve with drivers/tweaks but if it's fixable that would be great, Thanks!

I really LOVE this mod as I think SSAO should have been a native FX in the game and with it the game changes a LOT if you know where/what to see BUT, with the last After dark DLC there seems to be a kind of PIXELATION in the places where AO is present so I would love to see an updated version working correctly PLEASE!!!Many thanks for the great job!!!

Yeah a bit of artefacts by the road curbs and in the industrial smog.
Tried increasing the m_SampleCount from 2 to 4, but that just lead to the entire screen being black :)

wwrking with AD but looks worse than before AD. SSAO Effect has a lot of artefacts.
