Alrighty, thank you for letting me know. I'll do some testing and try and find tune it. Time to see if I make a sports car have more horsepower than a pick-up! Lol

@AfroDude: Yes.
@login: By default it uses the same torque for all vehicles. Right now it does no balancing at all hence all the values the same. No idea about offroad go brr as I don't us that mod.

Wanted to ask, do you have any recommended settings for torque multipliers for different vehicle types? I want to have heavy duty vehicles be stronger and sports cars be weaker, but I also know (in real life at least) torque also affects acceleration, so I don't want to make sports cars have no acceleration and pick-up trucks take off like a shot. What recommendations do you have for those settings? Or is it already balanced like that? (it just says the multiplier is 1 for everything, so I assumed it was all the same for each vehicle type)

@⸸BïGfÅÇË⸸ Adjust offroad traction in sandbox settings. And make sure its tires condition is good as tire condition matters now.

@snajdr I have literally no idea how 1 week mod even moves cars so I have no idea how to add compatibility. Ask the author to contact me.

would it be possible to add compatibility with week one mod? since this mod forces overwrite files in game folder it stops week one’s npcs from driving cars

@gerpity10 Validate your game files, and then install it properly by only copying the zombie folder and not every single folder in the mod, as per instructions.

New version with the requested features of:
Adjustable max reverse speed
Offroad skid noise
Trigger based analog throttle/brake
Vanilla steering mode
Better Warthunder support
Reduced the effect of sunday driver/speed demon.

Requires copying zombie folder over again because I moved the steering options from sandbox to mod options.

@天蓝色的巡洋舰: Try right clicking zomboid in steam library->properties->Installed files and click the 'browse' button. that will at least locate where zomboid is installed on windows.

@HorizonXY PS make sure torque converter, transmission and transmission fluid level are good, or your transmission will slip and you'll just always be at the redline.

And yes, the first number is reverse gear.

@HorizonXY: Torque converter lockup RPM is when the torque converter fully connects the driveshaft to the engine. Different vehicles spawn with different RPM levels of torque converter, its mainly a factor when starting from 0mph and doesn't factor in much at 2nd+ gear unless very high for the engine.

@artgill Just tested. they do not remain if you disable the mod. You are likely not disabling the mod in both: the main menu, AND your save via the 'load->More->Choose mods' menu

Don't delete the mod or steam will just reinstall it for you when you install the game. Unsubscribe from the mod.

The mod settings remained in the game settings tab, although I deleted the mod itself, I tried reinstalling the game, nothing helped

@Black_moons Never mind I am just idiot and didnt realize at the time that cars have reverse gear too, atleast that what i think the first number is. And I tweaked it to the point I like, thanks for directions. Also Torque converter Lock-up RPM have much greater influence on RPM than gear ratios (maybe common sense but i am not a mechanic), and I think currently they are too high. As result of my tinkering, there are much greater differences between RPM between gears and 4th gear 40 mph is now around 2.1k rpm, which is much nicer number to look at than 3k.

@Black_moons yeah I am using that mod too. Thanks for directions. Gonna tinker with it a little. I noticed that gear ratios of 1st and 2nd gears are identical as in ratio of 1st gear and 2nd gear is the same number. Why ? Do you want me to share my re-done values ?

@DonaldDuck Chances are you have Speed Demon trait. Iv greatly reduced its effect for the next version. Try tapping the handbrake or using debug mode to remove speed demon trait.

I really like the mod, but I had an issue where the car kept accelerating for maybe half a second or so, even after I lifting my finger off the key. That made driving backwards, especially with a trailer basically impossible. Maybe its a conflict with another mod, but this Problem doesnt exist with Better Car Physics or without any mod at all.

HorizonXY: Opps sorry, Forgot that is a feature/file in Project Summer Car. It does affect the transmissions in this mod however and lets you swap transmissions and torque converters.

@Dwarphkin Yea, I'll see if I can't find my controller with analog bumpers and get it working then.

@HorizonXY Vehicles with higher top speed will have more difference between the gears, my code calculates the final drive ratio from the top speed setting to redline at that speed. You can adjust vehicle top speed per vehicle in the sandbox settings for realistic car physics. (Or by groups of vehicles by using a common phrase they all include)

Feel free to also edit the ratios at the top of client\engine_menu.lua in the mod if you wanna play with it, existing cars with those transmissions will get updated next time you load the game. The first ratio is reverse, the rest is the forward gears and the number of ratios determines how many gears there will be.

3k rpm at 40rpm in 4th (the last gear is a lot of vehicles of that time) is realistic.

@Black_moons One more question, how do I lower the RPM, because 4th gear at 40mph and 3k RPM seems a little too much. Even for 1990´s car. And on top of that the the difference in RPM between 2nd 3rd 4th gear are pretty marginal, lets say 40mph in 2nd is around 4,5k RPM 4th is 3k doesnt really make sense.

This mod seems to be pretty good. I was planning on adding era correct vehicles to tickle my car tism, but there is one big glaring thing that's keeping me from using it, the controls. I play this game almost exclusively on controller, so when I read that there was analog gas/brake included, I got really excited. Then to only find out that gas/brake share the left stick with steering. I to this day can never understand how this control scheme exists and why its as common as it is. It creates a situation where you can not have full lock of the steering and wide open throttle/ full brake at the same time, nor can you have brake and throttle together at all. So is there some kind of mechanical or software reason for this change? And is there a way in the mod files or vanilla game to change it to the triggers on my end? I'd love to use this mod, but the controls just don't do it for me.

@toad_vine What won't go away? Exactly what is it doing? Its physically impossible for the java mod to exist after you reinstall the game. And the other part of the mod is removed via the load menu.
