thank you, i put some thought into keeping it balanced. i did a quick testgame and the AI had no issue expanding in my game. I switched up a few code lines and now the AI cant even see the mod's content. it if is now still broken by this mod, i would like a full modlist to recreate this.

yes i am sure it comes from this mod but the moment i removed it they started to expand again, i'm also playing on version 4.1.3 i also opend up the files and tried to read them out but i am also at a loss why that happens as you said already they ai should not use it in any manner but it definitely happend over all i must say tho i do like this mod and the alternatives to this are not really mine either as atleast you keep the station upkeep with new stations so it seems to be balanced aswell

thank you for telling me. i am baffled as to how that can be. since this does not interact with the AI, the AI litteraly cant do what this mod adds. I just tested and the mod works without issue on the most recent game version. it might be different mod or you are confusing this mod with the alternate version?

The 1 copy of a buff makes sense. It handles defensive aura buildings the same way, where you can only have 1 per grav well. As to blocking over hab worlds, id rather you not, as I know a lot of people use mods that increase the starbase size ( myself included ) and those dont tend to touch orbital rings, making the starbase the better option, especially in fortifying a system. Leave as is, so that there is a choice between the two, not a forced option :)

a lot of the star base buffs apply to the system and if you have Buff1 come from two sources the game will only count it one time. it would blow the scope of this mod out of orbit if i changed all of that.

yes, the game treats these like orbital rings, thats because orbital rings are space stations, also nothing i can do about that, aside from blocking the construction of these starbases around habitable worlds. I might add that over easter, just to reduce these edge cases.

that the bonus to reduce upgrade cost is not applied is suprising to me, since after building them they are just like any other space station, it must be that the primary station that gives controll of a system is treated slightly different still.

this mod should work in EVERY stellaris version that has megastructures and star bases, as long as neither system is too far changed.

thanks for the feedback, it is very hard to testplay for so many cases, as this game is so complex by now.

I have been messing around and found some sort of soft limitation aside from starbase limit. The game sees these starbases as orbital rings and so following those rules, only 1 starbase per major and minor celestial body (counts asteroids as well). Also DO NOT build a starbase around a colonized plant or a planet you want to colonize, else you can never build an orbital ring around said planet because the starbase is the orbital ring.
Some misc: Stacking multiple Cybrex mining drills that boosts mining station output in a single system does not stack. Have not tried it with the Zroni storm caster yet.
The Eternal vigilance perk and edict that builds defense platforms for free every 6 months does not apply to starbases built via the megastructure list. you have to build them manually. Also the -50% starbase upgrade cost buff from the Unyielding tree does not apply to these starbases either.
Aside from these, the mod is working fantastically, even on the 3.99 phoenix beta.

no, this will not break any saves. i gurantee it. the only option how it could, would be the most bizzard cross interaction with another mod that does a highgly specific change to the starbase outpost. but i wouldnt imagigne any mod having that.

i havent tested that, but the way this mod was build, as long as space stations arent too drastically changed this mod will work. if it doesnt, i will make it compatible.

I changed the check slightly, now the starbase number is counted accuratly and maybe this new way of counting fixes the issue. effectily it means you can build 1 less.

if you have a cap of 9, it matters not if you have 6/9 or 10/9 just the 9 is important, then you can have 9 starbases in one system, you can have 9 starbases in every system even upgrade all of them. why it disables this for you temporarily, i cannot tell.

The loss of placement happens for all systems though, not just the one that may be capping out. It wont let me build them anywhere for a moment. Does Starbase Capacity denote how many I can build in an individual system? As when I've lost the capability, I only had 3 in a system, with a cap of I think 9

The Amount of Starbases you can build in one system is limited by your overall starbase capacity, so if you can have three lvl two Starbases then you can have three starbases in your system.

i could do that at first, but i think after researching the dyson swarm i couldnt do that any longer, this also occured after i researched the archive and placed it in the other game

I wish i knew how this happend. The game has 2 modes for megastructures, either they are bound to a planet or star or they are freely placeable, but all freely placeables have to be at the edge of the system, like hyper relays or gateways. I wish i could help more.

sadly, i could not get the AI to build multiple ones. It might be possible since they do build megastructures, but maybe it is just very low priority for them.
