I tried this mod, but I think something is wrong with math in meat curing. As I see, meat has "units", that give it nutrition, but this mod takes only 1 unit (which is about 2-3 hunger) and gives back big piece of 40 hunger. Sooo, I think its very good Idea to add ways to store perishable food, especially meat after hunting, but not now.

P.S. I think something could go wrong, because I use mods that fix hunting and make it give u more meat. Buthering Hook Fix and Rebalanced Yields: Butchering. I scrolled some files of 2th mod, and it overrides meat, giving it a way to become big piece (250 hunger), but I do not understand how it breaks receipe here.

FYI, Pemmican made with fruit/vegies lasts for a few years. If it's just meat and fat, it can last for a couple of decades.

That out of the way, cool mod :)

mine will work as a patch i just havnt a chance to work on it this week. mine also included the other meat types people have been asking for, bird, chicken, rodent ect :steamhappy:

you can patch a mod without completley re-uploading it. your linked mod is a re-upload and replacing the original creators name with your own in the mod ID is just a slap in the face

yeah i see the flag for may degrade. i just removed the destroy since its guaranteed
some other stuff:

empty jar not consumed while jarring meat - add mode:destroy to Base.EmptyJar (line:83) i added it to Base.JarLid aswell even though it was already being consumed

add Item 1 Base.JarLid to the output (line:120) of craftRecipe OpenJarOfFoodMeat (Line:106)

berries not consumed in recipe MakeMashedBerry- add mode:destroy (line:160)

add mode:destroy both MashedBerries and SugarBrown (177,178) for recipe MakeJam

i believe the knife is meant to loose sharpness/quality when crafting lard, if its not working properly i will attempt to fix it.

I will look into uploading a patch/update mod to the workshop that fixes the bugs and includes my expanded content i have been putting together that builds on this mod.

@[NKD] SyCO PRiNCESS Kudos on your Fix. you can make this pastebin as a patch mod BTW just include the file with same name and folder location. set LongTermPreservation as a requirement in mod.info and steam. that should mean your mod is always loaded second and will overwrite/patch

using the SyCo dissapears the meat when cured it, but for example, if your piece of meat is great and has 2000 calories, the cured meat always has 400 calories, for me it does not work, I WANT CALORIES!!! jeje

some recipes in the mod still require adding "mode:destroy" so i will try to update it again when i can. bug seems to affect recipes that use meat, berries ect

FIXED: Ingredients not getting consumed when crafting cured meats/pemmican.
CAUSE: Missing "mode:destroy" flag recipe input for affected items.

Hopefully mod author can update his mod to incl fix and update at some point

Replace the entire contents of:
steamapps/workshop/content/108600/3406392630/mods/ModName/42/media/scripts/recipe_cured.txt

With the following:

I'm not sure if it was broke prior to this latest update or not, pretty sure it was not, but currently I'm getting infinite cured beef, the original source of beef is not being consumed by the recipe for curing it properly

Give a list of crafting recipes, these pictures on steam are useless. I can only make cured meat with 60 pork and 5 salt. I have beef, i have other types of meat.

Lard from pork is very unbalance, in build 42.
I butcherd 4 pigs and made 9 lards - each have 4095 calories = 36000 calories :O

I am a little confused as it lets me cure meat but just one, when I go into the crafting menu it says something like 18/60 uses and I have a lot of meat in my inventory (and salt) so not sure why I can only cure 1 meat

Pemmican only gets 3 months until rotten and 350 calories. Not worth it. I used far more calories than that to make it.

The mod doesn't work. It doesn't matter what type of meat I have — whether it's fresh, frozen, spoiling, or spoiled — whether it's in my inventory or not, near an oven or a campfire. The mod just doesn't work, with salt our not.:steamthumbsdown:
