the faryth is patched into a vanilla enemy spawn group. this is an array containing eight enemies, of which only one will be selected per forest biome. each enemy has a weight of 0.111, meaning they have a roughly equal chance to be chosen.
this means that the faryth, in default elithian races, not accounting for any other mods, has a 1/9 chance to be chosen per forest planet. it's even rarer if any other mods also add creatures to this same array.
to fix this, i went ahead and patched the forest biome so faryths are a guaranteed spawn, which i've just pushed out as an update now. this will only work on newly-generated forest planets.
but I never played with elithian mod only and don't know if faryth are supposed to spawn everywhere by default
(maybe one of mods in my mod list was already touching it somewhat)
I am on a fresh universe, and haven't yet leave my starter lush planet, so idk if my mod collection actually works (testing slowly), but there is no faryth here thankfully on my lush starter, and I am super grateful for that
can you visit a forest, walk through it for a while, and then send a copy of you starbound.log? i want to see if they're not spawning because of an error in their monstertype file, which is the only reason i could think of causing it to consistently fail to spawn in all biomes.
there is this crazy thing called not using the mod
