As long as the mod works fine and you have no errors, then there's no need to change anything, it's just a matter of avoiding conflict with other audio mods. I have a similar placement when using RimPy to sort and it works just fine in my almost 400 mod list.
My mod is a simple collection of SoundDefs and patches, there's no reason to include more strict load order rules, I just made sure it loads somewhat after Core + DLCs.
As always, if you find issues, report them with as much information as possible.
If so, is there something you can put in the about.xml to have it loaded closer to the top, such as placing it before vanilla expanded framework? RimSort places VFE directly after Hugslib.
Thanks for pointing it out, I'll fix it in the next update and make it more clear, you're supposed to load this mod close to the top in order for the patches to load correctly.
If you use RimPy or other mod loaders, they should just do it properly by themselves.
IN-game mod browser description: "It is important that you load this mod after any other mods that modify sound files to avoid issues."
So, uh, which is it? :-)
If you still experience issues, please re-download the mod and make sure the mod is up to date by checking your mod folder for .ogg audio files. I don't know how many mods you are using but please read through the pinned thread, the issue you mentioned was exclusive to Linux only.
Thanks for the suggestion but RSE will only replace the vanilla and DLC sounds.
Compatibility with other mods, like Dead Man's Switch would be handled separately, similar to how I approached Vanilla Weapons Expanded, as an add-on to RSE.
Thanks for reporting, more insight would be good as I can't reproduce your problem at all, downgrading to 1.5 and testing every sound leaves me with no issues so it's most likely either an incompatibility problem with other sound mods, if you're using any, or possibly corrupted game/mod files. Try redownloading my mod and/or make a copy of RimWorld, then update to 1.6 and downgrade again to the latest 1.5 version via the steam beta selection.
It's very weird that you have no letter sounds as they are not affected by PatchOperationReplace functions, instead using the vanilla defs, indicating a problem that is not inherently caused by my mod. Be sure to let me know if you end up finding a working solution to fix the problem, have a great day too and thank you.
It appears some combination of my mods, the fact that I am still on 1.5, and the two updates from last night has caused an issue where some sounds do not play, nor output any kinda log that I could get you.
Sounds that I had noted with this issue were; the Cancel command sound, the Construction sound would get cut off short, any and all letters (raids, research complete, visitors, etc.), and explosions (tested with mortars only before I figured out it was this mod causing the issue and booted it from my lists for the time being)
I'm not expecting any miracles here, just pointing out that there appears to be issues with the mod in 1.5 specifically, in case you hadn't tested the new updates in that enviroment.
Hope you have a good day!
Thanks for reporting, I've fixed the naming problems for Linux users and reduced the file size from 203 MB to 22 MB while I was at it.
Thank you very much, it's been very hard but reading everyone's comments has really helped me push through on some days, I honestly can't thank everyone enough.
Try to disable ambient rim and let me know if that fixes the problem, otherwise try reducing the number of sound mods that you have enabled, you can also find a workaround in the pinned discussion thread since the issue is just log spamming.

Modpack is at https://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3507289931 if you want to replicate
I really hope things turn around for you irl <3
Please report any problems here and I will fix them as soon as I can.
I honestly just can't tell you, I might port the mod to 1.6 but that's most likely it.
I'm going through a difficult time right now and dealing with a number of problems that are severely impacting me and I'm unsure how they'll affect me in the future.
My priorities have shifted for now and I hope everyone can understand.
The mod is unlisted and won't appear on the workshop. There's a hyperlink in the image above you can click to go to the light version's page.
