@nicovallejos: Go air your frustrations elsewhere. This Khmer mod has NOTHING to do with any planned or canceled Pol Pot mods. I have nothing to do with Uighur Caesar and he is NOT seeing this rubbish you are posting to my mod. Go pester him on HIS mods if you must.

Because of Windows 10 I cannot use the Steam link. Please send me a direct link to the download file?

@sukritact, Looks very good, thanks. Just wondering, does it support ethnic units mod?
Anon_2 26 Jun, 2015 @ 5:04am
My thanks for a fun mod. It might be a little overpowered - I won a cultural victory in 233 turns at the Prince level (standard sized map), and production in the capital at the end was 287 per turn with the production focus set to food... BTW, there is a group of musicians who are victims of land mines who perform near Angkor Wat - and some of their music is quite pleasant - there are videos of their performances available. I especially recommend their album of music for weddings.

Seems like the bonus points start to accumulate in the city where latest GE wonder was built... Had it at the capital, then built Petra in a different city and it started to accumulute 5 points instead of 1.

Thank-you

This civ is extremely overpowered. You should remove the + great engineer accumulation it is just way to easy...
Mojave Neon 4 Nov, 2014 @ 4:05pm
Played through with them again, making sure to look closely at the GE points in the capital. It was still only giving me one from cities, my capital. None of my other cities were giving a GE point in the capital. As far as the Royal Tromeak goes, I was able to make better use of it this time, but only because of the map. Proximity of suitable city locations, high-gold yield luxuries that allowed me to not have to use those trade routes to keep from losing money, and locations that blocked off barbarian access to those trade routes, made it work quite well. So, the Royal Tromeak can be either great or terrible, depending on what the map is like. With ideal map conditions, it's awesome. With mediocre or bad map conditions, it's awful.

Just wondering - are generally all new civilizations compatibile with mods like Ethnic Units or R.E.D....? I mean - will Khmers look oriental with these mods, or will it be a standard Civ graphic for all units...?
sukritact  [author] 21 Oct, 2014 @ 7:24pm
They probably aren't smart enough to utilise the stationing bonus sadly, they do however, know how to pick between faith and food. The food bonuses go only to the city that builds the wonder.
sukritact  [author] 20 Oct, 2014 @ 8:35pm
The +1 GE point does occur with other cities, it will be applied to the capital however (I.E, with 4 cities, you get +4 in the Capital)
Mojave Neon 19 Oct, 2014 @ 12:52am
Most of this civ was an excellent mod. I did have two issues with it however. One is that the +1 GE point only occurred in my capital, and none of my next three cities. The other is that the Royal Tromeak was a dissapointment. On a civ as focused on wonder-building as this one, a GE's most valuable function is to speed production and get an instant wonder. Keeping him around and doing nothing is pretty worthless. The +3 production on domestic trade routes is barely any benefit at all. Maybe if it was just a passive +3 production without needing the domestic trade route, it would be an okay UU. As it stands, it's a waste of a UU in what is an otherwise excellent civ.

Very beautiful choice in music!

So, will this be slightly balanced soon? While the Khmer were a fantastic and mighty empire, this mod is a bit OP for my liking . . .

I'm running this through Steam on a Macbook, I can't use mods can i?
Viregel 11 Sep, 2014 @ 12:03pm
@sorubim - Given finding appropiate Khmer music turned out to be incredibly hard, Sukritact went with Thai music given its similar sound (and because he is Thai, so naturally easier to find). Khmer is by no strech a Siam copy.
UnderKingDuck 10 Sep, 2014 @ 6:47am
I would have to agree with what NerdExtrodinare said. I also think this Civs UA should be a free Great Engineer once you research a certain tech instead of +1 GE points. Evenything else though seems really interesting though.

@egordigest
You're asking about how to use mods, right? You have to choose 'mods' in the game menu and 'enable' the mod you have installed.
Lofwyr 8 Sep, 2014 @ 1:10pm
This is quite weird. I've actived the mod in my mod list but it does not appear in the Civ list during game setup. Any idea?
Acrovis 7 Sep, 2014 @ 10:33pm
This patch says Khmer Civ, but why the music both peace theme and war theme are all from Thai (Siam) Classical music themes. The music title names are also written in Thai language themselves. Khmer don't have their own classical music ? or Khmer is just a Thai (Siam) copy civilization ?
Finnway 7 Sep, 2014 @ 7:10pm
I really like the special abilities you gave this Civ. They are very creative.

I have selected 'The Khmer' (and more...) but i m sorry i don't understand how to integrate this in my CIV V , how to do? So i can't evaluate the quality of that work (neither for others...). Is it because my CIV is in French version?

Sukritact, I found a version of ระบำโบราณคดี: ลพบุรี on youtube played by what I assume is the tradional insturmental style of the cambodian/thai region (I am by no means fluent in Khmer and the video description was in Khmer), and, as a westerner, I found it incredibly beautiful :) and I also found the version of the philharmonic orchestra beautiful as well, but i prefer the tradional :)
Grigs 7 Sep, 2014 @ 12:15am
@there are quite a few civs who dont have a UU or dont have a UU till some late point of the game. So it's really not a balancing issue for non-warring civs to to lack a UU.

Unless you start next to a warring civ. You can often play peiceful and avoid war the whole game by using diplomacy well. I find this is easily done up until civs start picking Ideologies which cause wars to brake out, and in many cases the pieceful civ get dragged into war cause they are the first to pick ideologies but you can always protect yourself with defense pack or just change your ideology to suit the situation. Im saying this case use to feel all peice/culture oriented civ required luck but once you learn to min-max diplomacy that is really not the case at all.

@sukritact Yes, I realize that, I was simply wondering whether it's possible to show progress towards the Tromeak all along instead of "swapping" the GE out when he's completed.
DaSlays 6 Sep, 2014 @ 10:22pm
This Game is cool
NerdExtrodinare 6 Sep, 2014 @ 4:59pm
Interesting ideas, but the bonus to great engineer production's quite powerful, I'd just make it so they get a free one with a certain Technology.
But the bonus food is just broken unless that 120 is a picture form an endgame wonder.
Jinsuki 6 Sep, 2014 @ 4:10pm
I salut to you Sukritact, for making this mod, being cambodian myself. Well done.
sukritact  [author] 6 Sep, 2014 @ 2:47pm
@mordcake: Great Engineer == Royal Tromeak, since the Tromeak replaces the Engineer.
Seiliu 6 Sep, 2014 @ 1:30pm
Great civ,but most civs have a unique military unit, making this civ poor.Playing against rome, they always crush me despite having far more troops.I like the idea, but not a good civ for playing with waring civs. But without waring civs, the game is boring. This civ does suite anti-war,but someone always wants war,so that i cannot finish even a simple game without losing some/all of my cities due to no great bonuses,as this special is similar to spain, where it's fantastic if you find one(A natural Wonder),but if you don't.....well,you're surrounded by armies and your bonus means nothing. As well as the GP bonus, the maya has exactly that(of course they dont have the RT)but you get them more often. This civs bonuses are a huge gamble to play with, because you need luck to win.As for the colosseum, faith is a good bonus, but the wonder thing tips me off.Because the unique GP is an egineer, its a waste if you dont use it to rush a wonder, because then the unique building doesn't do anything for you.

Is there a way to display progress towards the Royal Tromeak instead of the Great Engineer in the city screen?

@[WDZ] SANIC SPEED: Events and Decisions is available here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=528549

@Colonel Sanders: Siam is modern Thailand, the Khmer are modern Cambodia. They're about as distinct as Spain and Portugal I suppose; some similarities, but don't/never get them confused.
