Such checks do supposedly exist, but they are clearly not working very well right now. Revisiting that logic is getting close to the top of my priority list.
Thank you for the report, and for naming a range of situations - it's useful info.
It turns out the massive size increase in the mod files was a result of my starting to use Publicizer - a tool I still don't fully understand. In light of the truly unreasonable size, I have removed the source from the latest upload.
Moving it in and out of the folder every time I want to update is a little awkward and something I'm liable to forget, so I'm still looking into simpler compromises. In the meantime if you see the size balloon again, it's probably because I have forgotten to exclude the source, so do let me know.
The default baby clothes included in this mod are pretty limited. If you need more options you can use the settings to allow them to wear child apparel, which will open up parkas, etc.
Toddlers will also try to avoid getting hypothermic if they can access warm areas, and adults will try to retrieve them if they're in danger.
Thanks for the report. I clearly need some more null checks, and I'm going to add a blacklist mechanic to exclude races like these as my next priority (hopefully later today, we'll see how it goes).
As for the previous version, you can get it from the GitHub (https://github.com/cyanobot/Toddlers/commits/master/) by going to a previous commit and downloading the .zip.
It looks like Mincho uses its own custom solution for baby graphics, not the standard HAR approach. Therefore the generic HAR patches don't work for Mincho.
I've only looked into it briefly, so if anyone happens to be better informed on what's going on with Mincho babies, please do let me know.
I'll add a compatibility patch to the to do list, but it's going to be very low priority since it is only one race and looks like it might be complicated. In the meantime I'll add a way to blacklist the race from becoming toddlers, so that at least they don't break.
Having looked at the HAR definitions - there's a field for whether a body part should display in bed or not, but I can imagine that this would also be used for body parts other than hair so I'm unsure about hiding it based on that tag alone...
I'll look into whether I can come up with a sensible bit of logic to try and catch "hair backs" like this. It'll probably take a while to implement, so don't hold your breath.
Hello! I've encountered an issue while using the mod in combination with "The Dead Man's Switch". Specifically, generated units like "Fortified Humanlike Mechs" are being recognized as human Pawns by the Toddlers mod, which then attempts to read their age, infant stage, ToddlerTracker data, and limb development information. Since these fields do not exist for the mech, a null reference exception occurs.
Would you consider adding an option in a future update to disable infant-related detection for mechanical units, if time permits? This could help improve compatibility. Additionally, if it's not too much trouble, would it be possible to share the version prior to the last update? Since the issue didn't occur before the update, I'd like to try reverting to see if it temporarily resolves the problem.
Thank you very much for your attention and hard work!
Hair is unfortunately typically a single sprite, and can't be separated into parts like that
I see what you mean. I think it would look even stranger if the hair did not stay aligned with the head, though. I think the easiest option is to restyle your toddlers (you can use the dev mode tool T: Change Style) to use the shorter hairstyles until they are older.
I can confirm that on my machine, with just Toddlers, Wolfein, and their prerequisites, the toddler is correctly receiving the baby body graphic.
Can you try testing with just those mods? If it still happens for you with just the bare minimum, one of the mods might be (slightly) corrupted and re-downloading them might help.
If it only happens on your longer modlist, it is probably a conflict (which I can look into if you can figure out which additional mod(s) is/are causing it).
Thank you!
On the GitHub (https://github.com/cyanobot/Toddlers) you can browse the commits to access previous versions. Go back to just before the latest HAR commit and download the ZIP of that.
I am a bit confused though, I didn't think I changed anything that would drastically affect performance. Are you running HAR? Have you tried Dubs Performance Analyzer to diagnose the issue?
Is anyone else having this problem?
Once upon a time I wanted to make a translation, and I did it
Hmm, it was working with Wolfein for me. Is this on an existing save? Does the same happen on new saves?
I just checked with the minimum configuration and Milira and Kiiro have been successfully upgraded to baby bodies, but Wolfein is still in an adult body. Is it possible to fix Wolfein?
Please let me know if it's working, and if I've broken anything else in the process.
Thank you! As one of my earliest mods, there are still bits of code in here that I wrote before I even knew what a null check was. I see the issue, fix will be in the next update.

thanks!🙏
Noted! Last time I checked I couldn't find any mods adding baby-specific clothes, so I didn't think it needed accounting for, but if those are out there now, I'll add adjusting the settings to the to do list.
Subtle bugs involving putting toddlers in bed when they shouldn't, or vice versa, are the bane of my existence. x_x
That said, adults put toddlers to bed, by default, under a bunch of circumstances, including when the toddler is trying to sleep on the floor, and when the toddler is assigned to sleep in the schedule. You can switch this behaviour off in the settings (if that is what's happening and you don't want it).
I'm not totally sure how I'd animate the crawling tbh to keep it visually distinct from walking. Maybe a smaller magnitude wiggle? I'd have no problem with Yayo's overriding my animations if you wanted to request it there, but I have so many other things on the to do list that I'm afraid I'm not going to tinker with the animations any time soon. Thank you though!
The baby tribalwear ought to inherit its tech prereqs directly from the adult tribalwear, so it ought to work automatically. It did last time I checked - let me know if it's not working now.
@若彗
The infant clothing provided by this mod is pretty much a clone of the child clothing, so if they can wear child clothing there's not really any reason to also need baby clothing.
Is another mod is adding baby-only clothing, so that you need both? If that's the case, I can think about adding another option.
There's an option in the settings to turn off feeding toddlers who can feed themselves. They aren't supposed to interrupt if the toddler is already eating though, I'll put that on the issue list.
@Maux
Noted, put on the list.

If the toddler doesn't have anything to do in the prison cell, approximately their only options are sleep and mess around in the crib. Have you tried putting some toys in there? That said, I haven't tested much with prisoners - there may be issues there.
When childcare was at 2 pawns kept taking crawling toddler to bed, but after I put it to 3 they stopped (most likely a mod conflict of sorts on my side)
Any chance the toddler crawling could be animated when Yayo's Animation is loaded? Most of other actions are but when the toddler crawls its just static. No idea on which mod's side it needs to be patched. It'd be absolutely cute seeing the little beans wiggling as they crawl around.
About toddlers playing togeather Maybe my mod "more immersive children" will be able to fill the gap in the meantime.
Out of curiosity, I've noticed some pawns interrupting toddlers from eating (even at confident manipulation) to feed them manually
Would there be a way to stop this?
Great mod as ever!
You've probably tested this yourself by now, but in case you haven't and for the sake of others, here's the "official line" (as it were) on what will happen if you remove mid-save:
I don't know.
The toddler pawns ought to revert to being regular vanilla babies. HOWEVER, a lot of errors will be generated due to the game trying to load saved references to hediffs, thoughts, etc, that no longer exist. I'm not sure if these errors will be severe enough to break your save - it probably depends on the exact save.
Back up your save, try it out with caution.
