I loved it very much. I've now switched to "Operation Tonga mod", which I think is even more difficult, after an initial field survey.
To avoid frequent crashes, usually at the time of the arrival of the enemy reinforcements, I have been forced to modify the content of the file "entitymanager.set" in the Robz mod (with reduction of the bodies and items fallen on the ground).
A tip: try to avoid using guns and mortars too much against the buildings of Sainte-Mère-Eglise. Maybe effective in reducing US resistance points, but this creates rapidly too many new objects on the map, which often means a crash after a wall or house is destroyed.
Cheers.
Perhqps i need to stqrt a new game after allthe changed i have made ?
The mission is very well designed, rather devoted (at least at the beginning, where I am still) to infantry combat, both in open field (take care to the range of the US cannons !), and in locality combat. To limit losses, some tactical meaning is needed. The open space on the left is very, if not too tempting ... but American plans of fire are dreadful ! A rightward overflow is preferable, even with the risk of low range fightings.
It's the perfect setting for the use of teams of 2 German snipers, with mutual fire support, who sneak along the hedges, and are tasked with cleaning up American support (especially the cannons). Slopes, usually covered with hedges, keep them safe from direct hits. And woe betide the too curious US tank crews, who come out in the cupola. In short, very close to real History.
Many thanks for this great mod, Anatoly Dyatlov !
Cheers.
I have a powerful PC with 64Gb and a GTX2080 Graphic card. It seems that it may have something to do with the progress as it starts to slow down to the point that it freezes and crashes. I played the other mission without any problems. Lowered all graphics to low, restarted the campaign from scratch three times. (by the way, whatever a managed to play is great)
Any ideas? Anyone in the community managed to finish it?
Thank you.
