i'm going to kill myself because of this level

The idea is original and charming but the level needs a bit of polish. Mostly the janky hitboxes for the flame throwers and saw blades on which you can stand and that you can pickup the actual health from the lava pools even when your health is full. Other then that its pretty rad

This level is proof that Gears for Breakfast doesn't have quality control for Challenge Roads.

I can say a lot of mean things about this level, due to it being included in a Challenge Road but let's just say I didn't like it.
Infinite Zero Ace 8 Jan @ 8:48am
its a okay level, but not really fun to play
Nice concept, but the sheer jank of the flamethrower platforms and all the damage sources ignoring iframes makes it agonizing. I genuinely hope whoever picked this for a Challenge Run gets fired.

Try completing this level with the hazard badge on and I bet it will be TWICE as hard. (Also pretty ironic)

Great level to completely screw with your brain. I especially like how it's basically built on top of a normal level, just now with a Death Wish-y twist. Only things I'd wish for were the flamethrowers to be ledge grabbable, and the ""safe"" platforms allowing iframes. You can get combo'ed REALLY easily. (thankfully the healing pools are alright at countering that). Fun and interesting overall, though!
Danero 20 Jan, 2023 @ 1:27pm
Fantastic concept, absolutely hated how hard most of the platforming was, and how jank it was. Moving skinny platforms are a nightmare. Some sort of solid ground was needed in the dwellers mask section, and damage for no reason as previously mentioned. Gave up after attempting dwellers section a few times.

Cool on paper, but GOD. The ammount of broken hitboxes made me wish that this level didnt exist. Let me list them all.
Second part with the wanderers, the first purple spinning platform can just hurt you for no reason.
The final part has the spinning sticks that can hurt you, even when you're not within thier range (above them), so you have to go JUST and I mean JUST CLOSE enough to not touch the hitbox.
These issues sound small, but they make this level absoluteley cruel to play.
Chaoxufurwa 1 Apr, 2022 @ 4:19pm
This map seems to have an issue where, for some reason, the platforms that are supposed to be safe (ie, the things that would normally hurt you elsewhere), can just sometimes hurt you anyway. Doesn't matter if you're standing on them or landing on them, they can just up and decide to burn you. It's almost like the collision for the solid surface you can stand on isn't sufficient, or just randomly goes away.
Could've been good, but it's a bit inconsistent and frustrating.

Disgusting. Live the rest of your life as a father of this doodoo.
Pulo Pwner 11 Feb, 2021 @ 11:49am
Such a cool idea and such a horrible execution. It turns out that if you remove the ability to grab to ledges and to see the shadow where you are going to land, the game is suddenly not fun at all. Plus, why introduce an idea and immediately ramp the difficulty. Some of the platforming was unnecessarily tight and the random diamonds that you almost never see and always hit you are there for no reason. It was cool to find the cookie, but there's no way I'm trying this frustrating and torturous level in that mode.
BlueDucky 24 Jan, 2021 @ 5:54pm
This level hurts my BRAIN! Not only that, it is some of the tightest, most frustrating platforming I have played through. Every segment felt like I was just lucking my way through, spamming Time-Stop and Dweller Mask. All the platforms are just too thin to accurately judge where I'm going to land...
22 Jul, 2020 @ 8:29am
Creative but it's a torture, making opposite decision every single time. In fact, if this stage perfectly looks normal, stage itself is not that easy I think

I wanted to complete the level before I talk bad about it and I must say.
I didn't eat the cookie but I still had a bad time with it.
Also yeah in case you guys missed it, there's a sans mode underneath the first lava pool that you can access via Ice hat, my spider sense found it. :)
The reason I feel like this map is bad is that it feels not good to play at all, you just stumble through it and if you win, you win. But it's not fun at all and doesn't give you that sense of "I did it yay". The idea is fun though ngl. Except the pons (ง'̀-'́)ง those pissed me. And the hitboxes overall were not what they should visually be. It must be hard to code something like this however and I'll give it a pass.
mucus brian 2 28 Apr, 2020 @ 9:29am
Was having fun until the last part. Hitboxes were pretty janky and sometimes I'd just take damage for no reason. Other than that it was really cool. I liked the dweller platform idea, that part was crazy!
Noir 19 Apr, 2020 @ 3:58am
Great level dude, after doing all the Death Wishes it doesnt feel that hard.
Supermario3459 14 Mar, 2020 @ 7:37am
After 35 minutes of rage in the whole, I had to quit at the final section... too bad but I couldn't stand to rage at thoses ridiculously small hitboxes, that concept makes it really confusing and those rotating "normal" platforms kills you instantly and some are barely avoidable...
Sorry but I didn't enjoy it :(

Good idea, horrible execution. Already got myself swearing at the first section because the fire "platforms" are total pain to jump on. Truthfully, didn't bother finishing this level.
Try to teach the concepts slowly instead of immediately throwing players into a pit of suffering.
LegenTerry 1 Feb, 2020 @ 1:24pm
i'm with everyone else here. i didn't even bother doing this legitimately because of the hitboxes for landing on the flamethrowers was too bad. i cheated and so i didn't do most of the level the way it was intended. those hitboxes really need to be fixed
Inkwell Ausla 16 Dec, 2019 @ 4:57pm
Interesting concept, had my fun with it I suppose, but overall the execution was dreadful. I understand the need to use fire bars as platforms, but their hitboxes are WAY too small. The third stretch with the moving fire bar platforms was ATROCIOUS. Not only was it incredibly difficult to get ON the platforms, (I needed the time stop hat) but the obstacles are incredibly dense leaving no time to react and zero room for error. One lapse of attention or minor bit of damage and your trusty platform is miles away. Beautiful level design, fun concept, but the wonky hitboxes and bad communication of obstacles makes it just feel ridiculous sometimes.
Typ 30 Oct, 2019 @ 8:49pm
Just beat it, still want to stab someone. Too many deaths belonged to that final stretch. I love the concept, the design of each obstacle is interesting, but the execution is a bit dreadful, the hitboxes for some of these fire bits are so wonky I can't tell if I'm standing on it or about to die again. Needs some fine tuning. Again, love the concept.
Typ 30 Oct, 2019 @ 8:34pm
I'm yet to beat this. I want to stab the person who designed this.
Hobo Joe 26 Oct, 2019 @ 9:23pm
You absolute madman. As soon as I heard the first few seconds of the music, the mischief makers nostalgia hit me like a truck. Awesome level my dude :lilimok:.
Souper 21 Oct, 2019 @ 1:24am
Yeah, some of the hitboxes are strange, such as the sideway spinning platforms' hitboxes 100% of the time being at it's highest.
Mimiri 16 Oct, 2019 @ 1:07pm
This level is Dark Souls like. When you finish you are so happy :D
Psoron  [author] 9 Oct, 2019 @ 2:58pm
hmm, they shouldn't hurt you...
what could be happening is that if you stand on the flamethrower in a weird way that the collision of the "hazard" blocks overlap and you still take damage
the flames of the flamethrower shouldn't damage you, but i'll take a look, thanks
rogenriganz 9 Oct, 2019 @ 12:34pm
Uh, I like the concept but the flamethrowers' flames keep burning me when they shouldn't for some reason.
Psoron  [author] 23 Sep, 2019 @ 10:49pm
yeah, i was afraid that it might be too difficult, i tried to make it beatable for less skilled player by adding more flamethrowers, it used to be a lot harder heh

anyway, i know that the hitboxes can be a bit janky, but if you're struggling with them, note that you can jump on them, they're deliberately placed in such a way that you can just jump from one to the other most of the time, i thought about blocking that off, but decided at end not to

ill keep all that feedback in mind, should i ever make another level, thanks
lumina_ 23 Sep, 2019 @ 7:02pm
I, uh.... I'm way too casual and dumb to make it through, at least not this time around, but GOD this is about the most entertainingly creative rift I've ever seen! My big problem is that it's really hard to tell where the fire columns' hitboxes are, so I have a really hard time landing on them.

Amazing idea and execution, but I'm too much of a plebian to handle it. :P
Psoron  [author] 23 Sep, 2019 @ 1:34pm
that's why there are two tracks, so there isn't too much waiting around, i could have increased the speed, but that would have made the section more diffcult heh
but i know what you're saying, it can get frustrating if you fell off at the end, because the other track is then already going back
The Bisectors 23 Sep, 2019 @ 1:13pm
Definitely a cool idea.

My only complaint is about the section where you need to ride the moving flamethrowers. While the actual sequence itself is fine, it takes about 5-10 seconds after each respawn for the player to get another chance at the section since the flamethrowers have to complete their round trip. This doesn't make the sequence anymore difficult, but stuff like that annoys me since it does nothing but wastes the player's time, though it's not a deal breaker by any means.
spongebobhappy10 22 Sep, 2019 @ 5:12pm
oh my god, this is the most fun & creative rift i’ve played. even though it was hard for me as a casual it was still very creative & really made me have to double think a couple of jumps haha. good work !!
