you can set the launch sequence on a timer and if you time it right you can also make it automatically brake when out of gravity well
cinnamon 11. feb. 2018 kl. 11:10
you just need to scroll wheel yourself out the frame so
cinnamon 11. feb. 2018 kl. 11:09
(nevermind, it occasionally goes far too close to the player so its apparently impossible to place)
cinnamon 11. feb. 2018 kl. 10:58
I'm having the same issue as @zero55 currently
Mikeangel  [ophavsmand] 8. feb. 2018 kl. 23:10
I can't really think of any reason for that to happen. I have had no problems placing them, and I imagine most of the people who have tried haven't had either. :/
zero55 8. feb. 2018 kl. 17:21
block limits were disabled and i was placing it on the moon. i have no mods and followed the instructions to the letter. yrt the frame is red.
Mikeangel  [ophavsmand] 8. feb. 2018 kl. 12:58
Maybe you have block limits on in the game settings
zero55 8. feb. 2018 kl. 12:56
the game will not alow it to place
Mikeangel  [ophavsmand] 8. feb. 2018 kl. 6:54
i probably pinned the problem, currently when you separate the ring from the tower it is considered a station and as thus cant move at all. Check new instructions.
Mikeangel  [ophavsmand] 7. feb. 2018 kl. 22:28
What's the problem?
zero55 7. feb. 2018 kl. 13:53
the blueprint doesnt work on the latest vesion
Mew 5. feb. 2018 kl. 21:43
What would be a good setting to lower it to?
Mikeangel  [ophavsmand] 5. feb. 2018 kl. 21:41
Well, it is tuned to work with loaded pods. There's little sense in launching empty ones apart from testing. If you want you can lower the gravity of the ring.
Mew 5. feb. 2018 kl. 21:28
So i basicly have to put stuff in it?
Mikeangel  [ophavsmand] 5. feb. 2018 kl. 21:27
Because it's empty. A 800.000kg one will just be slowed down
Mew 5. feb. 2018 kl. 21:03
Ok it does but the ring doesnt stop the pod it stops then hurttles it back down
Mikeangel  [ophavsmand] 5. feb. 2018 kl. 21:01
With my game settings the ring automatically becomes a ship when you detach it (although it no longer seems to work after the update. The pod should reach the ring. Maybe you have the dampeners on.
Mew 5. feb. 2018 kl. 16:12
and yes i am on the moon
Mew 5. feb. 2018 kl. 16:12
and the pod doesnt reach the ring
Mew 5. feb. 2018 kl. 16:12
or else it wont launch
Mew 5. feb. 2018 kl. 16:12
you forgot to mention turn the ring into a ship before you connect to the station
[UESC] Gladius 2. feb. 2018 kl. 10:44
I swear this is the last place I would have imagined seeing hate speech.
That aside, absolutely awesome dude! Never seen anything like it!
LastThymeLord 2. feb. 2018 kl. 10:36
TI-92 is just upset about being completely obsolete.
Shonnas 2. feb. 2018 kl. 3:38
top work, - T192 you are a cretin
Mikeangel  [ophavsmand] 1. feb. 2018 kl. 22:45
Thanks for that nice and useful comment TI 92.
Gnome 1. feb. 2018 kl. 16:52
thought it was cool until i saw your gay fanfiction in the description
k_medlock 1. feb. 2018 kl. 1:41
Nicely done mate!
NYVS 30. jan. 2018 kl. 17:51
You have beaten me to the punchline. Have you designed a separate blueprint for a orbital cargo capture ring. My plan was to implement a system like this to operate in a similar manner to a space elevator (minus potential SE game system issues associated with the ridiculously long "cable").
Mikeangel  [ophavsmand] 30. jan. 2018 kl. 3:37
hmmmm. You could expand the gravity field range of the railgun and use it to stop as you come down. But if your ship cant fly in the moon its not going to be useful
gorgofdoom 30. jan. 2018 kl. 3:28
This is really cool!

Now... how do we get back down to the planet without destroying our prescious plunder?
Mikeangel  [ophavsmand] 30. jan. 2018 kl. 2:56
Mount it in rotors for aiming and you are good to go.
OV-103 30. jan. 2018 kl. 2:41
Could be weaponized as an anti-capital weapon. It's already a massive coilgun.
Mikeangel  [ophavsmand] 29. jan. 2018 kl. 22:37
Would depend on the ship, how heavy it is and how many artificial mass it has. It can probably launch fighters without problems.
PacificAsgard 29. jan. 2018 kl. 22:22
could it launch a small ship if it fitted onto launcher?
iDrinkSoup 29. jan. 2018 kl. 17:13
Great idea, jumping in the game to see this and how i can adapt it to my fleet. Nice concept !
Mikeangel  [ophavsmand] 29. jan. 2018 kl. 8:03
After more testing, i have decided the stop strenght is indeed excesive for empty pods, but lowering it will make it unable to fully stop loaded pods, so it will remain the same, as loaded pods are its priority. Lower the gravity to around 1.5-1.8 for less heavy pods if you wish
Mikeangel  [ophavsmand] 29. jan. 2018 kl. 7:39
You would have to adjust either the railgun to make it launch the pod somewhere around 100m/s, or the stopper to be able to stop at whatever velocity the pod arrives. Harder, but it can work
petilounet 29. jan. 2018 kl. 6:57
can it work wise speed-mod?
Mikeangel  [ophavsmand] 29. jan. 2018 kl. 2:44
I will try to readjust it, but it has to be able to stop a loaded pod.
petilounet 29. jan. 2018 kl. 2:43
i think the stop is too powerfull it be nice if wise some sencor start stop the stop ring
Korvatus Klok 28. jan. 2018 kl. 21:47
Now that's down right awesome. Looks great and has an interesting function. I really feel there should be more infrastructure designs, too many military builds.
Mikeangel  [ophavsmand] 28. jan. 2018 kl. 1:54
Thanks!
TheSilverInfinity 27. jan. 2018 kl. 17:40
Noice m8!
Quartofel 27. jan. 2018 kl. 13:26
I've made similar thing looong time ago, but it was not nearly as good looking and well made. Great idea with stopping ring!

One of my faves here.
