These things are handled by the OptionsDialog class, which isn't modified by this, or any of the other mods you mentioned.
Im aware that I need to hit save, etc. I have used the same procedure in the vanilla menu and changing controls worked for me there
(The other mods listed, including dark theme, wouldn't be relevant for such an issue).
Note that if you press DISCARD at any point during menu navigation, then your changes won't be applied - you need to press the green SAVE as you exit the options menu.
Did a few tests with an otherwise-vanilla install, and I just don't see any problem - can you describe your exact steps, button-by-button, that are causing you the problem?
I appreciate your mod and I like the way it works. I however have encountered a few issues
I installed this mod through the Custom Workshop Installer mod. I followed all the steps in there ( clean install, class remover, etc. ). I use DymanicVRC and Smokeless Tires as mods too, but nothing else.
My issue is that I can't change my controls with your mod active. I uninstalled your mod and the dark theme mod and now I have been able to change the controls. I reinstalled the dark theme mod and then after that I installed your menu mod again and it did keep my controls I set up
Some AA has been added to make it look better than the original, but there isn't much that can be done to make it any better.
Of course any other video could be used instead, but making something new is quite a lot of effort, when plenty of players of older versions are already perfectly happy with this one.
I'm not going to pretend that 2.3.1 made SL2 any newer than it is (2003), so I don't see it as much of a problem :)
It's from older versions of SL2, much more "classic" than 'peak of modern design' :D
What loading screen?
Update to the latest version and you can now edit the DELETER text to whatever you like :)
I'd like to see what you come up with, if you do, good luck :D
"Accept button" green: http://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1238243577
(I'd normally redo instead of recolor the lines so they're not as jagged)
I don't know, feels a little out of place, as it's not really used anywhere else. Doesn't show connection to the OK button without the gradient and that would look a bit cheap here.
The whole theme is black-white and red, so seems appropriate to use a color that's at least somehow related. Consistency!

ehhhhhhhhhhhh.................
I think it looks pretty good as it is, opposite colors generally go fairly well with one another. White makes the red text a little out of place, as it'll stand out as the only colored thing on the page.
To change the color of that text, I need to change the CarInfo file and I don't want to add to files that might get broken by updates, leading to the mod needing to be reuploaded.
Might change that header text, it stands out a little too much, very light gray should be pretty good :)
I'd excuse the fold with "light just hits it like that", but you're right, could shade it down!
I do like the 'shiny surface' look it gives though.
I did actually try changing the cyan to red, but I liked the outlined car in cyan more, looks better with the red text below than ALL red. Because of this, I also reverted the graph text to cyan for a little more consistency in the area.
The inversions are ok, if you don't look closely you don't realize the are inverted. In catalog it's just the shading in the middle supposed to be a fold, it's lighter. In car info it's the cyan instead of red. Might help you with that.
Guess it's just me hating how much damn light the stock theme outputs... I'll add a note about not NEEDING it :)
Are you unhappy with the laziness of the inversions? If you don't think about their origin, I think they look pretty nice.
Yup, can't do much about the background video, the original is just too low-res. It pretty much relies on people being used to it in the older versions, playing at a low resolution and/or just not caring.
Thanks for the comments on it, I doubt they'll actually affect anything, but it's very nice to know what exactly people like or dislike about things :)
About the dark theme, I haven't used it long so here are the things that bothered me:
- inverted images in catalog and inverted colors on car info screens
- the background video, I guess it's quality itself and especially when using your Track Selector (also nice one) its's just irritating
Glad to hear that :)
The dark theme is just what this was designed to look good with. Otherwise, for example, I'd be using darker text for readability.
May I ask what gripes you have with the dark theme? I might be updating it at some point and I'd like to know what others want from it :)
Is the Dark Theme really required for this to work? Just don't like few things about the Dark Theme so I've been using this without it and seems to work fine.
When subscribing, Steam should've told you about needing the Dark Theme too:

Or... maybe I'll do the one with the dots at the end, the bottom may look a little too empty without it.
Maybe it should be "DELETERS" instead - one being for cars, other for careers...?
Hm... what about "DELETE..."?
