Sounds like you have a controller with a drifting axis, or some other external failure Oo;
These things are handled by the OptionsDialog class, which isn't modified by this, or any of the other mods you mentioned.

I go to change controls. I click on the control like you would normally. I press the button I want, and either nothing happens or a question mark appears instead of the button. When I go to drive with such a question mark, the considers it as if I were constantly pressing the button.

Im aware that I need to hit save, etc. I have used the same procedure in the vanilla menu and changing controls worked for me there
EvilMcSheep  [author] 17 Feb, 2022 @ 7:17am
Hm, changing controls has always worked perfectly fine here.
(The other mods listed, including dark theme, wouldn't be relevant for such an issue).

Note that if you press DISCARD at any point during menu navigation, then your changes won't be applied - you need to press the green SAVE as you exit the options menu.

Did a few tests with an otherwise-vanilla install, and I just don't see any problem - can you describe your exact steps, button-by-button, that are causing you the problem?

Hello

I appreciate your mod and I like the way it works. I however have encountered a few issues

I installed this mod through the Custom Workshop Installer mod. I followed all the steps in there ( clean install, class remover, etc. ). I use DymanicVRC and Smokeless Tires as mods too, but nothing else.

My issue is that I can't change my controls with your mod active. I uninstalled your mod and the dark theme mod and now I have been able to change the controls. I reinstalled the dark theme mod and then after that I installed your menu mod again and it did keep my controls I set up

Get me the animation's original files and I'll re-render it :D
Some AA has been added to make it look better than the original, but there isn't much that can be done to make it any better.
Of course any other video could be used instead, but making something new is quite a lot of effort, when plenty of players of older versions are already perfectly happy with this one.

I'm not going to pretend that 2.3.1 made SL2 any newer than it is (2003), so I don't see it as much of a problem :)
muff 20 Mar, 2019 @ 10:36am
yeah, but why not more high res?
EvilMcSheep  [author] 20 Mar, 2019 @ 10:04am
Talking about the background video?
It's from older versions of SL2, much more "classic" than 'peak of modern design' :D
muff 20 Mar, 2019 @ 9:29am
correction> menu screen.
EvilMcSheep  [author] 20 Mar, 2019 @ 9:28am
@UɴᴄʀᴏᴡɴᴇᴅKɪɴɢ
What loading screen?
muff 20 Mar, 2019 @ 8:21am
yeah well, when i go from menu to menu, the current one xrays the previous one and the loading screen is a eyesore.
EvilMcSheep  [author] 8 Jan, 2018 @ 2:03pm
@LazyBZ
Update to the latest version and you can now edit the DELETER text to whatever you like :)
EvilMcSheep  [author] 21 Dec, 2017 @ 1:37pm
@g13ba
I'd like to see what you come up with, if you do, good luck :D
g13ba 21 Dec, 2017 @ 1:34pm
Yeah it's not making it better, and the red just screams "look at me". Anyway I might try creating my own theme, so that somebody can be picky about it ;)
EvilMcSheep  [author] 21 Dec, 2017 @ 6:13am
@g13ba
"Accept button" green: http://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1238243577
(I'd normally redo instead of recolor the lines so they're not as jagged)
I don't know, feels a little out of place, as it's not really used anywhere else. Doesn't show connection to the OK button without the gradient and that would look a bit cheap here.
The whole theme is black-white and red, so seems appropriate to use a color that's at least somehow related. Consistency!
g13ba 21 Dec, 2017 @ 4:52am
It's ok, you're right but the opposite colors should be offset a little, so I would sugest moving towards green, maybe like the green of the accept button.

ehhhhhhhhhhhh.................
I think it looks pretty good as it is, opposite colors generally go fairly well with one another. White makes the red text a little out of place, as it'll stand out as the only colored thing on the page.

To change the color of that text, I need to change the CarInfo file and I don't want to add to files that might get broken by updates, leading to the mod needing to be reuploaded.

Might change that header text, it stands out a little too much, very light gray should be pretty good :)
g13ba 20 Dec, 2017 @ 5:19am
For me the cyan looked out of place because it is not used anywhere else as heading. On the car blueprint the cyan red contrast is just too heavy, but I agree all red was too much, maybe some lighter color or white would fit well.
EvilMcSheep  [author] 19 Dec, 2017 @ 4:45pm
@g13ba
I'd excuse the fold with "light just hits it like that", but you're right, could shade it down!
I do like the 'shiny surface' look it gives though.
I did actually try changing the cyan to red, but I liked the outlined car in cyan more, looks better with the red text below than ALL red. Because of this, I also reverted the graph text to cyan for a little more consistency in the area.
g13ba 19 Dec, 2017 @ 4:11pm
Nice note XD.
The inversions are ok, if you don't look closely you don't realize the are inverted. In catalog it's just the shading in the middle supposed to be a fold, it's lighter. In car info it's the cyan instead of red. Might help you with that.
EvilMcSheep  [author] 19 Dec, 2017 @ 3:40pm
@g13ba
Guess it's just me hating how much damn light the stock theme outputs... I'll add a note about not NEEDING it :)
Are you unhappy with the laziness of the inversions? If you don't think about their origin, I think they look pretty nice.
Yup, can't do much about the background video, the original is just too low-res. It pretty much relies on people being used to it in the older versions, playing at a low resolution and/or just not caring.
Thanks for the comments on it, I doubt they'll actually affect anything, but it's very nice to know what exactly people like or dislike about things :)
g13ba 19 Dec, 2017 @ 2:58pm
I think it looks great with the stock theme as well, the readability is the same as in stock catalog, so it's ok (at least on my display).
About the dark theme, I haven't used it long so here are the things that bothered me:
- inverted images in catalog and inverted colors on car info screens
- the background video, I guess it's quality itself and especially when using your Track Selector (also nice one) its's just irritating
EvilMcSheep  [author] 19 Dec, 2017 @ 1:45pm
@g13ba
Glad to hear that :)
The dark theme is just what this was designed to look good with. Otherwise, for example, I'd be using darker text for readability.
May I ask what gripes you have with the dark theme? I might be updating it at some point and I'd like to know what others want from it :)
g13ba 19 Dec, 2017 @ 1:19pm
Respect and thank you. Whenever I start the vanilla game the first thing I am missing is this mod.

Is the Dark Theme really required for this to work? Just don't like few things about the Dark Theme so I've been using this without it and seems to work fine.
Anach 8 Nov, 2017 @ 2:44pm
@EvilMcSheep Thanks, I'm a moron. L:)
EvilMcSheep  [author] 8 Nov, 2017 @ 7:03am
@Anach
When subscribing, Steam should've told you about needing the Dark Theme too:

Anach 8 Nov, 2017 @ 2:23am
This works fine for me, but is still white unfortunately.

EvilMcSheep Alright :steamhappy:
EvilMcSheep  [author] 22 Sep, 2017 @ 8:48am
Sure, I'll look into it once the uploader gets updated to allow workshop item modification :D
Or... maybe I'll do the one with the dots at the end, the bottom may look a little too empty without it.
Han 22 Sep, 2017 @ 8:32am
EvilMcSheep Hmm... I have no idea since there are no longer icon for deleting. Maybe implement it under the options menu, One for profile and one for cars, is it possible?
EvilMcSheep  [author] 22 Sep, 2017 @ 7:32am
"DELETE" implies more immediate action, while "DELETER" describes it more precisely, being the thing that deletes saved cars or careers.
Maybe it should be "DELETERS" instead - one being for cars, other for careers...?
Hm... what about "DELETE..."?
Han 21 Sep, 2017 @ 10:01pm
Can you change the "DELETER to "DELETE" ? Because it's little weird to read :steamsad:
Anubeia 21 Sep, 2017 @ 7:08pm
All hail Sheepy McSheepface.
