Oh, I can do that right now, the only reason NIA Core and MG3 are listed instead of AOW was someone complained, the mod works just fine with AOW or the two of them individually.

yes, a total mod using NIA version would be nice in the future. what I meant tho was this mod RHS to use the NIA AIO instead of NIA core & mg3, so we wouldn't need to redownload the mods seperately.

I may make a seperate, NIA CSAT version of this in the future, but it won't be deleting/replacing this version as I want RHS users to have an option for a CSAT replacement.

I can't replace those using the same method I used for all the other units, so that's not going to be fixed.

Ok, what I was aiming at was a circa 2010-2025-ish faction with all my overhauls- slightly past modern day, but less futuristic than the original 2035 setting- that's why you see increased proliferation of G3 style uniforms in NATO for example.

The CSAT uniforms are based on that of modern-day Saudi and Iranian SOF as of 2016, using digital desert camo to keep the brown colour tone of the faction and being more advanced than normal camo, as hex camo is not used on any infantry IRL (I've seen it on vehicle camo nets in the Australian Army, but that's about it for hexcam) - They don't have body armour built into their uniforms anymore, but wear more conventional body armour vests now.

Rifles and equipment are based on, again, Saudi and Iranian equipment- The Katiba is still used in the faction but only by recon / SOF teams, as in real life it was a massive failure of a weapon but I wanted to keep it around as it's pretty iconic for CSAT.

does downgrading their equipment mean bringing them up-to-date ? their equipment is meant to be futuristic and they are a new powerful economy according to arma 3 lore and their uniforms are meant to look like that cus its armor for the trooper thats why they dont wear vests and since when ak-74 were advanced its 2035 you should of kept the katiba (kh2002 Iranian assault rifle) and just give all of the uniforms and just replaced the camos with desert ones like kh2002 with a desert skin-this mod could work as CSAT pre2020s scenario where they probs fight wars in the middle east to expand thier faction [iam saying all of this cus thats what i want but i cant find it so iam just annoyed your mod is good]

Indeed it will, as the description says it totally replaces the OPFOR CSAT faction in editor, Zeus, ALiVE and all scenarios played when the mod is enabled. That includes the main campaign as well, but very occasionally a mission might force some units to have modified loadouts in the campaigns or missions, in which case they go back to vanilla gear, but it generally works pretty well in the campaign.

I also tested modded campaigns, like Callsign Minotaur, which worked without any issues at all with this on.

Some require less than this, the reason this is NIA dependant for the MG3's was I had a poll while making it and people voted to have them as it's their IRL machinegun.

Yep, vanilla AT weapons was intentional, it prevented some spawning issues and weight problems (units were overloaded when used with similar ammo amounts from RHS) as well as means that vehicle AT ammo still worked. The guy without a helmet but with NVG's was intentional as well, it was just to shave off weight on that particular unit, but I wanted to keep the NVG's for combat effectiveness.

AHAT / HAT were added to the faction after I actually finished it (they were added in Tanks DLC, this mod pre-dates it) and I might revisit the mod at some point to fix that, but it's pretty complicated to do these,particularly for the 3 major factions (AAF, CSAT, NATO, the others are easier) so it's not a priority right now.

The use of the Katiba in Recon / SF teams was intentional as well, I wanted to keep a small amount in the faction as they are used by Iran IRL, but only in tiny numbers, so were well suited for a Recon team or other small group.

Hi, I really appreciate the consistency of your work! Some units that have been overlooked..?

B_soldier_AAA_F spawns in with NVG but no helmet

O_soldier_AHAT_F
O_soldier_HAT_F (both still vanilla CSAT uniforms and gear)

O_recon_TL_F and O_recon_JTAC_F are still using bullpups, but looks like your design choice.

O_soldier_AT_F is assigned a vanilla Titan AT launcher, by choice? Ditto O_recon_LAT_F with vanilla RPG-32.

Please ignore any if they are deliberate choices!

No, it's not possible to easily replace vanilla vehicles that are used in missions with modded ones without breaking EVERYTHING- for example, some vehicles could be required to have a squad inside for a trigger to fire to progress a mission, but a modded vehicle might seat a different number so it doesn't work.

The faction was mostly inspired by some of the Middle Eastern coalition miitaries, and I attempted to balance the more basic regular infantry with the fancier SOF/ Recon troops and the addition of the slightly better geared Guards.

I intentionally used AK's and things like the MG3 for the CSAT so it's more similar to the actual nation they are based off, while also giving them a different audio signature compared to the FIA, for example, who are using M4A1's.

I considered China as the basis rather than a Middle Eastern Coalition, but the dependecies to get that working was more difficult and less interesting, considering Pacific CSAT already exist. I used the brown digicam as a way to connect the new look with the IMO rather iconic brownish and semi-futuristic colour tones of the original CSAT forces, but kept the Guards noticably different.

This is great, I'm glad you did this project! My big gripe though is that CSAT is supposed to be this giant technological military force, and with AKs and the like they are basically the same as FIA or any small mercenary band. They should be using M4s or bullpups or something that isn't over half a century old. Also, from my understanding Iran was not the originator of the alliance, but merely one of the hangers-on. Wasn't it China and Brazil that first signed the treaty?
