DESCRIPTION

The map covers the real-world region between the valleys of rivers Bradano and Basento, Basilicata, Southern Italy. The village of Pomarico lies in the central part, whereas Miglionico and Ferrandina are located within the 9x9 tiles area. Steep hillsides are the major challenge of this map, you might need a lot of terraforming to find place for construction. The rivers are deeper than their real counterpart.

All roads, tunnels, major bridges and interchanges are really existing, though some of them may look a little weird due to the high slopes. Roads are mostly implemented as 2-lane highways and national roads, so the Network Extensions Project mod is required. The starting tile contains the location of the real-world rail station in the Basento valley (marked by a second parallel rail).

Fertile areas, forests and oil are present in the map. The map has only train and road connections.

I strongly advice the Mediterrenean theme by <<FSF>>Ranger, which gives the perfect look and feel for this map (with the Realistic LUT).

Please share your screenshots if you are using the map, and report any problems and comments.

TIPS AND TRICKS

- If you don't use unlimited money and the 81 tiles mod, bootstrap may be challenging. In the starting tile you better immediately build a bridge to the other side of the river, as you have more place there to let your population grow. Try to keep the bridge as low as possible or it will eat up your budget! I advice however to unlock at least 25 tiles.

- If you unlock all 81 tiles, you may notice an unconnected rail bridge near the edge of the map. It is no mistake, that uncompleted rail line (sadly) really exists. The plan[www.ferrovieabbandonate.it] was to connect it to the existing station through a long tunnel. I have left this task for the player!

- If you unlock all 81 tiles, you can access the lake and replace the terraformed dam with an actual one (pause your game or you will flood the valley). Nevertheless, it will be just an eyecandy as it won't probably give any usable power, unless you experiment something radical with in-game placement of water sources.
