[AutoMcD] Journeyman

Description
Vanilla, Survival ready. UESC Contest #33 Entry.
*This ship does have an attached "small grid" area in engineering which would not get built from projection. It is for aesthetics only.

The Journeyman is named after skilled trades people, for which it is custom designed for. A useful yet economical solution to a wide range of field jobs.

Features:
-Universal airtight docking ring.
-Small ship hangar with attached engineering workstation.
-3 Crew bunks, Medical facility.
-Custom Wicorel script
-Range finder (aim with front camera)
-Stopping distance indicator
-Automatic leveling when in planetary gravity
-Coast mode toggles front thrusters but keeps others
on dampening to turn.
-GPS logging of ranged objects
-Flight deck for 1~4 ships depending on size
-2 Communication buoys with projectors to rebuild
-Planetary capable with hydrogen thrusters
-8 point defense turrets to keep the critters away
-Jump drive
-Support production ability.

Weighs in at 865 blocks, ~930,000kg.

About dropping the communication buoy in space:
It has no thrusters so important to place at zero speed.
Merge block will eject it at speed.
1. Make sure the gear is set to autolock (blue) then unmerge.
2. Then unlock the gear.
3. If it still has speed then repeat lock/unlock of landing gear.
If it gives too much trouble you can place it at zero speed
with the small craft, which also may take two tries.

On surface of course just drop it and go, it will flop on it's side. Optionally build more solar if full range needed here.

Update
11.20.17:
-Finally fixed the LCD panel rotation.
-Updated Wico and LCD scripts.
-Cut out most of the small ships.

Next update I want to change the bouys to laser antennas.

Thanks :)
I had second thoughts on laser antenna, it draws way too much power for a little solar buoy to be feasible.

Sweet! I was hoping you would update your ships :D

Updated!

Depends on your goals.. Nomad is a starter ship. Techniker I think is best for roaming around between asteroids for ore, processing, then building a large ship. But it's not planet capable. Sabrina is most efficient for exploring or if you want to use small ships for the mining and building. Journeyman smaller build but heavier use of hydrogen, a concern for survival.

Sounds good :) I tried turning off tool shake and changing the frame behind the thrusters to heavy armor but neither really helped. Eventually one gets stuck and blows the side of the miner out. I just stone eject at my base now. Your ships designs are great, but I can't decide for my survical build, journey, sabrina, or technika first once I get to space! LOL

They must have changed the thruster hitbox or something. I'll have to update it when I get time..

Odd, did a creative mars easy start and as soon as I sucked in some stone the sides blew out.

I actually mined quite a bit with mud bee without that issue. :|

Just so you know, the MudBee commits suicide with ejectors on also, it shoots the stone into the thrusters and boom! :-)

That's odd.. I'll have to look into it. I'll admit I didn't test it much, was a quick conversion from the mud bee. Stones must be getting stuck in it somehow..
