IDC Route Map - Lenton-on-Sea Branch Line - 1960's

Description
A fictitious route set in the UK during the mid 1960's. Best suited to 'Green' diesels and late BR Steam Locomotives. This is the complete route, a sampler of which, was published on Workshop under the title "Smallbrook Loop Line" on 21st.July 2016. DLC Required ..... Falmouth Branch Line. The Isle of White Line. Riviera Line. Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway. West Somerset Railway. Town Scenery Pack. Platform Clutter Pack. The route is Free Roam and Quick Drive compatible. Note: Due to the amount of detail, a computer with an up-to-date specification is required for a decent frame rate. The map is currently work in progress. The main branch line is complete, and the local line to Purbeck Colliery is nearing it's final stages (This part of the line can be used). The stations are in roughly alphabetical order. The longest journey is from Ashey Platform 2 to Ashey Platform 3 via Smallbrook which is a round trip of some 104 miles. For a single track Quick Drive Scenario try Lenton-on-Sea Platform 1 to Pope Street Platform 2, which will take you on the Purbeck Colliery line. Default map time is 14:00 hrs.Anyone can create scenarios for this route and receive credit for creating those scenarios, providing I am also credited for creating the original route when publishing. Background Story ..... Dr. Richard Beeching was appointed by the government of the time to create a plan to make British Rail more profitable. He produced a report "The Reshaping of British Railways" which was published on 27th. March 1963. It was first thought that the Lenton-on-Sea Branch Line was to be closed as a result of the report, but following protests by local people and businesses, a reprieve was granted and the line remained open. Anticipating closure, parts of the line had become slightly overgrown and maintenance wasn't considered a priority. Luckily all ended well with the decision to keep the line open.

Hi Girmek. WOW! What can I say. This an excellent route. I love it. A lot dedication & work has gone into constructing this route & the attention to detail is absolutely amazing. Yes there are some slight glitches in the route, I have to admit, but these can be easily rectified. The turntables are too small for the larger, British steam locos, also the infill areas of the turntables need to be lowered for the base & running rail to be seen. Some signals don't operate, tip! the approach arrows should be placed just in front of the signals, for them to work properly. The player driver just has to frequent the map & check all the switch points in advance in some areas too. Apart from these points that I have mentioned, its an absolutely stunning & enjoyable route to run on. Well done Girmek, I'm very impressed with the route. Thx. for sharing. :steamhappy::steamthumbsup:

It's so disappointing that this route uses manual points throughout, making it close to unplayable even in scenarios. It's such a pity, this route is very long and detailed but has to be relegated to just something pretty to look at!

Route looks quite good but please for the love of god never use that horrible track ever again

Hmm... when I try to upload any scenarios for the route, it still says that the route isn't final... On the bright side though, the route seemed to go down very well on the workshop Wednesday stream this week. Matt and Jamie were constantly praising the amount of detail!

Girmek, thanks a dozen. I will get onto uploading my scenario when I get a chance. It is an amazing route, I have recommended it on the Dovetail Forums to be included in the DTG workshop Wednesday livestream next week.

Thanks for your comments. I have investigated and mine shows WIP as well.
I have re-entered the editor and updated to final on the 64 bit version (The 32 bit version was marked as final). Looking forward to your scenario.

Having had a look, I realise the route is meant to be final, but it is still coming up as WIP for me. I wonder if this is the same for anyone else?

Absolutely brilliant route! Just spent some time making a scenario for it, but the route still says work in progress. I would imagine it has 30 upvotes by now, so would it be possible to make it final? If not, never mind, I shall wait patiently!

Would be great if somebody did fingers crossed

Thanks Peter 1949. The route has been finalised and is open to anyone wishing to create scenarios. Maybe someone will take up the challenge.
