Randomly selects a jacket style, hair style and leg style for Zoey. >>>Only works on local servers and singleplayer.<<< Compatible with pure Zoey reskins (anything that doesn’t include a custom model).
Works with Black Tshirt Zoey and Clean Zoey Legs.

Upper body variants
-open jacket
-no jacket; tank top
-tied jacket; tank top
-open jacket; rolled sleeves
-closed jacket
-tied jacket; tshirt
-no jacket; tshirt

Hair variants:
-short ponytail
-short untied hair
-long untied hair
-long ponytail
-short ponytail; hat

Each time you load a new map or spawn a new Zoey, it will randomly pick bodygroups.

This is currently v5 of this mod. I’ve reached some sort of hard limit in what the game engine can handle, so further bodygroups can only be added by slimming down or sacrificing existing ones.


Explanation:

This is an experimental mod that I produced to showcase a novel form of model randomization for L4D2. Essentially, I discovered that the method used to randomize the common infected can also be used for the special infected and for survivors. The only caveat is that on non-local servers it doesn’t randomize SI or survivors and the first of each bodygroup is always the one selected. Other than that, this method is superior to the existing texture-based RNG methods used for model RNG – it doesn’t cause glow outline issues, ragdolls always match the infected just killed, and there are no issues with flickering textures.

If you want/need a certain combination of body parts as a non-randomizing mod because you want to make a very specific reskin, or otherwise really like a certain combination, let me know in the comments. State exactly which head, jacket style, and lower body style you want.

Attention reskin artists:

Reskins of the custom textures in this mod can be made by creating a new mod and putting the relevant *.vmt files into “materials\models\survivors\TeenAngst\reskins\”
You don’t need to include the model itself. Instead, tell people to use this mod (Local Zoey Randomizer) in addition to your reskin mod. Your files in the reskins folder will have a higher priority than the ones I included here.
