BIG: Soul Gem Mining (a Better Improvements for Gameplay mod)

Better Improvements for Gameplay Collection

Description
Gives you a chance to get leveled soul gems every time you mine--even grand and black soul gems!
This mod gives you a 10% chance to get a soul gem anytime you and at any ore vein. It doesn't change the number of ore you mine, so it is compatible with mods that change the amount of ore, or the speed at which you mine ore. It also doesn't change the leveled gems you have a chance of mining. It simply gives you an equal chance of getting a soul gem or a normal gem. The soul gems you mine are leveled, and you'll be able to mine grand and even black soul gems when you level up.

HOW IT WORKS

It's simple: The mod changes one thing--the leveled list of gems received when you mine. It doesn't change the normal gems you can get at each level. It just adds an equal number of leveled soul gems to the list. The percent change of getting an item from the list is changed from 10% to 20%. So you still have a 10% chance of getting a leveled gem, but you also now have a 10% chance of getting a leveled soul gem with each ore you mine. At low levels you'll mine petty soul gems. As you level up, you'll mine lesser, common, greater, grand and even black soul gems! The list below shows the types soul gems you can mine as you level up.

SOUL GEMS MINED AS YOU LEVEL UP

✓ Levels 1 - 9: Petty soul gems

✓ Levels 10 - 14: Lesser soul gems

✓ Levels 15 - 19: Common soul gems

✓ Levels 20 - 29: Common and Greater soul gems

✓ Levels 30 - 34: Common and Grand soul gems

✓ Levels 35 - 39: Greater and Grand soul gems

✓ Levels 40 - 44: Greater, Grand and Black soul gems

✓ Levels 45+: Grand and Black soul gems

ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS

Q. Why not just buy soul gems?
A. The thing I like about Skyrim is it gives you a choice. If you want to save money, instead of buying ore or pelts, you can go mining or hunting to get your own for free. This mod makes it easier to also get soul gems for free, without making it too easy to make it unrealistic.

Q. Will I still get ore and gems when I mine?
A. Yes, you will always get ore and always have a chance to get leveled normal gems, too.

Q. Can I get soul gems at any kind of ore vein, even iron veins?
A. Yes, just like normal leveled gems, you can get leveled soul gems no matter what the kind of ore you mine.

Q. Will I get grand and black soul gems, too?
A. Yes, when your character gets to a high enough level to mine them.

Q. What soul gems will I get at each level?
A. See "Soul Gems Mined as You Level Up" above.

Q. Are the soul gems filled?
A. No, you still need to use a soul trap spell or enchantment to fill them.

Q. Will I get soul gems every time I mine?
A. No, just like leveled normal gems, you have a 10% chance to get leveled soul gems every time you mine.

Q. How many soul gems can I get at each time I mine?
A. There's a 10% chance to get one every time you mine an ore, so the maximum you can get (if you're lucky) is three.

Q. What's the chance that I'll get no normal gems or soul gems?
A. That's changed from a 90% chance to an 80% chance of getting none, so you will still have a 10% chance of getting a leveled normal gem, but now also have an equal chance chance of getting a leveled soul gem.

Q. Does the mod give me more soul gems as loot?
A. Yes, any container or actor that uses the same leveled list of gems will now have an equal chance of having a soul gem you may loot.

Q. Aren't there soul gem veins I can mine to have a 100% to get soul gems?
A. Yes, but they're in underground Dwarven ruins and a pain to get to. Also with the number of soul gems available to buy, it doesn't seem logical that they all come from the few soul gem veins rarely found under ground!

When you created this mod, did you know that in dark reach there are special mining places where you can mine soul gems?

Would love it if you could post this to Nexus and port it to SSE. I used to love having it in my Skyrim play throughs but this time I wanted to play SSE and it doesn't have steam workshop support.

Anyway thank you for making such a great Mod.
