ST: New Horizons is a community-driven project aiming to deliver a fantastic Star Trek game experience.

New Horizons is a total conversion of Stellaris, with a number of canon static maps full of empires, ships, species and events from the Star Trek universe. Prepare to relive your favorite Episodes and movies!

This mod will guide you through the entire Star Trek timeline, starting in 2150 a few years before the launch of the NX-01, up to the year 2400 and beyond. Explore strange new worlds, meet new civilizations, research the unknown, form a new Federation and prepare to fight the upcoming threats to the galaxy.

Please note that ST: New Horizons is still in development and therefore usually not compatible with other mods. We strongly recommend deactivating other mods before playing New Horizons.

Basic Troubleshooting

Only keep these mods active in your playset:
  • Star Trek: New Horizons
  • TNG Submod (optional) – Use only if you want to play from 2300 onwards. Make sure to pick a "TNG" map ingame.
  • One STNH UI Submod (optional) – Do not activate multiple UI mods, this will cause crashes.
  • Music Mod (optional)




System Requirements
  • 16 GB RAM minimum. Less can cause crashes when loading.
  • Custom empires may also cause crashes – delete or deactivate them.

Anyone getting a lot of desync issues? Started a new game this evening and keep losing connection wih my mate. Also I missed the Babel event as Earth (needed to chase small child) have i stopped me becoming the federation lol

@Russ - One issue that I seem to get when unsubscribing and resubscribing after an update is instead of changing to the new version it stays as the previous version. I unsubscribe and resubscribe a second time and that seems to update correctly. Is it possible that might be why some people are reporting still having the same issues that the hotfix was suppose to solve?

@_Lum im playing as borg with the 3.14 version, but was able to take over the el aurians :)

@Lochranza: For me early game is about expanding as fast as I can. So invest in research ships. Like about 6 at least? Because system survey is quite slow in this mod!

Oh, and yeah, as United Earth you want to have a fleet. So build Frigates, at least 10. And light cruisers maybe 3 or 5. They dont need to have the latest tech, tho. At no point leave the Sol System with your fleet, because you will need them there in at least two events.

Also look at the management tab of your planets. For some there are special options, like expanding the Starfleet Academy on Earth for example, or building Armstrong City on Luna.

I am trying ST NH for the first time and it is quite overwhelming so far, does anyone have some good general tips to start off with? i am playing United earth to start with.
I am about to move the game in slow motion and give it a try!
