Canine Companions (SRHK)

Description
CANINE COMPANIONS (SRHK) (v1.0)
By Banjo

Missing a little canine companionship on your latest run? Fear not, now your Fixer will put you in touch with some of the most formidable, dangerous and highly-trained combat dogs that nuyen can hire!

This mod is a roster that adds hireable "attack dogs" to the lists of available Shadowrunners you can hire. As well as "generic" dogs (which are similar to the Attack Dog enemies you face in the Hong Kong campaign, the Nephilim Network also boasts a unique and powerful cyberdog!

ADDITIONS:
* Hire trained dogs as runners.
* Unique dog runners. Offered by the Nephilim Network, so far there is only one such "legend" available, but more may follow...
* Doggy treats. Based on Dante's unique items in Dragonfall, these dog treats are carried by canine runners to restore their health and boost their abilities.

COMPATIBILITY:
Currently based on SR:HK v3.0.7.
Tested on the Windows GOG (v3.0.7) and Steam (v3.0.8) versions of the game, but should work fine with other installs (such as Humble Store, Mac OS or Linux) too.

USAGE:
To use this mod with the Hong Kong campaign, you can simply use my 'Hong Kong (Expanded)' UGC campaign mod, which can be found here:
http://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=569127089

To use it with other UGC, add 'Canine Companions (SRHK)' to that mod's dependencies (load it after the 'Shadowrun Core' and 'Hong Kong' items, and after the 'Slap Patch' mod if you are using it too) in the editor.

ADVANCED USERS:
If you wish, you can rename the files from .cpz to .zip and unpack them, but should be no need to do so unless you're a curious modder wanting to check out the changes made directly.

KNOWN ISSUES:
The original intention was to use both the (new to SRHK) Attack Dog model and the Dog model from Dragonfall. However, the dog prefab has been broken by HBS in the carryover from Dragonfall to Hong Kong. I have submitted a bug report, and when the model has been fixed, it will be included in this mod.

I really wanted to make the dog treat items only useable *on* pets/dogs, but able to be used *by* any runner (i.e. a player can buy some and use them on a dog runner in combat). However, I have no idea if there's a way to make this work, and all my attempts to do so failed. Thus, I've compromised and made the treats able to be carried by anyone, but only useable by creatures (such as dogs). This means that if you want to buy extra treats for your hired dog runner, make sure you move them to their inventory before entering combat!

Obviously, in order to hire any of these new dog runners, the story you are playing must have this mod as a dependency and must allow hiring.

FUTURE PLANS:
I intend to add two more unique dogs to be hired in future updates, each bringing something special to the playing field!

FEEDBACK:
This mod has been tested for bugs, but not thoroughly for play balance. I'd therefore really appreciate feedback on that side of things, especially in regards to the hiring cost of the dog runners compared to their combat effectiveness, as well as on the unique cyberdog Shadow and combat balance when using him.

NOTE:
This mod will be first and foremost hosted, updated and discussed on the Nexus:
http://www.nexusmods.com/shadowrunhongkong/mods/15
However, I will try to keep this Workshop version up to date too for those who use the Steam version of Shadowrun: Hong Kong.

Looks great to have playbale dogs ! I haven't played the main campaign yet, so I will test them later, but I already like the idea.

Wouldn't it make more sense to have the cyberdogs be under control of the Rigger class instead of being a whole seperate "person" so to speak? Purchase them from Reliable Mathew maybe? IDK. Just seems weird.
