In this guide I will outline the methods that I used to obtain the following achievements:

• Riding the Long Wave
  
• The Elusive Ten
  
• Blue?!
  
• It Just Never Ends

I will also make a few suggestions reguarding other achievements.

"Attain a 3 seconds long drift"


For this achievement, I went into Arcade mode and then quick race. I chose the level Copenhagen: Botanical Garden & Lower Osterbro. I used the Schugman SM1 (Formula 1 car).
Start the race. A little while in, after a few turns, you will come to a big, wide turn that goes counterclockwise.


Start about here, just before the turn. Make sure that you are completey stopped before starting or you may spin out.
Hold the drift...

And there we go, a 3 second drift.

Now this car can be very hard to control. I had to try quite a few times before I was able to hold the drift through the whole turn. But with a little practice, you can get the achievement in no time. If you find the car spinning out when you start, try shifting into second as soon as you hit the gas (you can still shift even when set to automatic). But you may have to start further back as you won't accelerate quite as fast.

"Attain every award for the still photos during Helicopter Chase events"

All I will say is which level I recommend using for some of the trickier ones.

To get Speed King, Stop Motion and Reverse I recommend using SuperSport Championship event #7 Bird's-eye View.

Speed King: Go for this one on the first camera spot. I believe you need to be going above 200km/h. Just don't drive faster than the helicopter!

Stop Motion & Reverse: I got both of these at once on the second camera spot. The helicopter zooms out giving plenty of time to get around. I just turn around before the line and back up to the line, then stop on it.


To get Drift and Burning Tyres I recommend using Pro Tour event #6 Aperture.

Drift & Burning Tyres: The second camera spot is on a curve so just drift through it.

Fly Casual: I got this one just by driving slowly over the line (about 60-70 km/h).

"Attain precisely the target time for a section or lap during a Time Trial"

Before trying to get this achievement, I recommend playing through most of the career first as you may just earn it as you play. If not then I recommend trying Junior Series event #8 Le Roi S'Amuse. This event has you driving a Wetzel Rigoletto, which means that your time for the first section will always be close to the target time. Hold the gas the whole time and cut the corners a bit and you'll eventually get it.

"Keep in the draft left by car for 20 seconds"

This achievement isn't that hard with the right track. I did it in arcade mode in a quick race. I picked the London: Hyde park track as it has a very long straight section in the last half of the race. Pick a class 5 car with good speed and acceleration. This will make all the computer players class 5 cars as well. I used the Denver Saura. Once the race starts, try to get up near the front; the 3rd or 4th car is usually a good one to follow. You can try following them through most of the track, but it really only matters once you get to here.

Just make sure that you are following a car that is the same speed or slower than you. Now just follow them all the way down this straight stretch of track. You'll know that you're drafting if there is a light blue haze/wake behind your car. By the end you should have the achievement.

There are a few other suggestions that I can make to save time. If you plan to get gold for every objective in career then you will get:

Good as New - "Attain a Perfect Lap"
Flawless Victory - "Attain a Perfect Race"
Unscathed - "Attain a No Collision Distance of 5 Km"

when you complete the Master Series event #S2 called The Big Picture, as the gold requirement is to 'attain a perfect race'. Keep in mind that a perfect lap/race includes not hitting other drivers. I've actually nudged the wall before and still gotten a perfect lap, but touch another car and it's over.

You can get Eat My Dust! - "Cover in dust an opponent behind your car" during the Sport Championship event #S3 called Second WInd. There is a part of the track that is dirt; just drive in front of another car while on a dirt part.
