Corellian YT-2000: Star Wars (UPDATED)

Description
UPDATE: Some big changes courtesy of KingdomBragg, who took my original design and added a bunch of features. Huge props to him.

Everything is now piped properly, including the weapon systems. The airlock is fully functional, and the boarding ramp is rigged with a timer block so it's now a one-button affair.

Most notably, the cockpit can now detach and acts as a fully powered lifeboat with 6-directional thrust (!!!!!)

I also tweaked the interior a little afterwards, and added seats for the gun turrets. Enjoy!

The rest of this is copied from the original description.

“The YT-2000 transport was designed to be a direct improvement over the YT-1300, but it only saw a limited production run. Its basic design was similar to the YT-1930 with its centrally-placed cockpit and symmetrical design, while the rest of the ship returned to the saucer-like design of the YT-1300.” - Wookieepedia

This is another build I'm sending off to the Star Wars community challenge set up by Captain Shack of The XP Gamers

Corellian freighters are (in)famous for being highly modifiable, and this ship is no exception. Most of the internal modules have been gutted in favor of massively upgraded engines, shield generators and weapon systems, with a powerplant to match. Although the remaining cargo space seems modest when looking at comparable ships, this beauty is perfect for its captain's chosen occupation: trading in highly lucrative (and highly illegal) weapons-grade tibanna gas.

DISCLAIMER: I'm new. You will experience this. Suggestions welcome.

SECOND DISCLAIMER: The boarding ramp is a squeeze. Try crouching.

STANDARD MOD DISCLAIMER: Mods are awesome. I use a lot of freakin' mods.

Still to come:

Working landing gear. I like flying around at high speed, which means movable parts of any kind are out. This will remain the case until I figure a work-around.

Weapons. I've chosen these ones mostly for looks, but will continue to explore more lore-friendly options.

Different variations. I want to experiment with engine set-ups to take advantage of a bigger and more interesting interior.

The "neck". Right now it's just a long hallway. There's gotta be something more to do here.

Very nice. Regarding your interior set-up, I had a little experiment with it myself. If you use several Azimuth 6 point fusion reactors, you can get the top, bottom and left weapons conveyored and linked to the connector. Also, the S-interior wall vents can be used to conveyor the rocket launcher without blocking access to the airlock. This allowed me to free up about 10 blocks worth of space inside.
