Update to the Skimmer,
This design now includes a Rotor based camera on the underside to allow for easier docking in first person.

So, I've seen the scenario, People stuck on far off asteroids and no transport but their mining ships. Not the nicest thing to fly into the capital with is it? Or perhaps you don't care, and will happily fly around in your ship, but what if you've got no O2 tanks? Well worry not, as the Skimmer has two, and a generator to boot.

Design:
I was originally looking to make myself a personal shuttle, and I tried several designs that I just wasn't happy with, the ships were all over-sized for a single person.
Then the Oxygen update came.
After re-fitting a few other ships, I realised the importance of having oxygen on a long journey. Off I went to the creative mode drawing board and I decided to make a ship capable of carrying up to 6 passengers with everyone being connected to an oxygen supply
Then I realised that Passengers might not be pilots, and 6 was an awkward number to work with, so I made a Fighter cockpit up front, and 3 standard cockpits along each side, Piped everything up with 02, tried to fit a couple batteries in, decided that a mid-ship thruster bank was suddenly a good Idea and soon enough, I had the basic shape of the Skimmer I bring here today.

I have had to change quite a bit since then and now I hope that I have a shuttle the workers and fighters of the UESC can be proud to fly in.

Features:
7 Seater people carrier in space.
Remote controllable.
4 Cameras (front, sides, bottom rotor-mount.)
2 Batteries.
7 small reactors (it needs them all.)
2 gyroscopes
Medium Cargo Container.
Connector.
Merge Block (just because.)
3 Landing gear.
2 Spotlights
2 Oxygen tanks.
1 Oxygen Generator.
All Cockpits have Oxygen piping.

Special thanks go out to MrB and Abatos for this build, as they pointed out many of the flaws that this design once had. Now with lowered landing gear, recessed thrusters, a rotor based docking camera and enough power to fly without overload, the Skimmer[R] is Good to go.

If the Rotor falls off, please change your ship's name to Skimmer[!] and one of our manufacturers will be there to recall your ship. ;)
