Here's my first add-on ever uploaded to the Workshop!
After two entire months dedicated to coding, I was able to bring these beauties to the table.

UPDATES

The Melees Update

The very first big update for this adddon.
It introduces six brand new melee weapons, including perk knives, katana and the infamous crovel!
Not only that, but the mechanics have been coded to be as close as the original game's, this means the melees feature parrying, secondary attacks and the combo strikes, as well as some features I wanted to include, like viewmodel blurring on attacks and so on.
This also comes with a base update fixing bugs and optimizations, a change to the shotgun's reload functions (aiming down sights stops the reload, for example), and a temporary removal of the bash feature.

The controls are simple:
[ATTACK1] = hold: combo, tap: single stab;
[ATTACK2] = heavy attack;
[USE] + [ATTACK2] = parrying.

Parrying halves the damage you receive from other melee attacks, including SNPCs (manhack cuts, headcrabs, zombie attacks...), however it is unefficient against explosions, bullets and other Combine technology damage sources.
All the blurs the melees' viewmodels feature are controlled by the HVU settings, this means you can disable those blurs by disabling HVU. However, if there are enough requests, I'll make a separate console command for them.

FEATURES

- Mandatory models, materials, animations and sounds from the original retail game.
- All the viewmodel functions KF2 has, including walk, sprint, gun checking and looping fire animations.
- Its very own bullet system, with speed, following Lua coded sprites and spread algorithm.
- Viewmodel blur, being AIDS blur and HVU (Hipfire Viewmodel Unfocus).
- 3D reticles, where guns with sights (that normally have a red dot) render a sprite behind their lenses.
- Holstering with respective viewmodel animations.
- Reload saving.
- General client-friendly code, with prediction and optimizations where possible.

USER GUIDE

This add-on also features a Client menu where you can customize or disable/enable various options. It can be found inside Utilities -> KILLING FLOOR 2.

As for admins/server owners, the Server menu gives two options, which are bullet speed (how fast bullets should travel) and chance for a lucky reload (the perk based animations I was talking about).

You can also change your character with the Characters menu: first select your character model and then your skin (some models feature numerous skins while others only feature one).

Let's go with the key bindings:

[USE] = use key, default E.
[ATTACK1] = primary attack key, default mouse1.
[ATTACK2] = secondary attack key, default mouse2.

[USE] + [ATTACK2] = change fire mode. A *tick* sound can be heard. However, if you don't hear it, it means the weapon you're holding doesn't have any.

[USE] + [ATTACK1] = fire healing darts. This is only supported by the Medic weapons.

FAQ

WARNING: IF YOUR QUESTION IS ALREADY ANSWERED IN THE FAQ OR IS JUST PLAIN DUMB, IT WILL BE EITHER REMOVED OR NOT ANSWERED!

A: How do I get ammo for my weapons?
B: All the weapons use default HL:2 ammo types. Entities in the Half-Life 2 tab should do.

A: My FPS drops when I reload/shoot/aim down sights!
B: Go in the Client menu found in Utilities -> KILLING FLOOR 2 and tone down/disable the respective blurs you think are making you lose FPS.

A: When I shoot, the damage is delayed!
B: Since the bullet system is completely client-sided, when a bullet hits something, information is sent to the server where damage is applied. This, as far as I know, can't be predicted in any way. What I recommend you to do is play on another server where you have less ping.

A: I see a big gun model in the middle of my screen!
B: It's a conflicting addon. Many before you reported this, and after removing various addons it stopped troubling them (that or you need to enable something higher than DX8. Thanks Kjin!).

A: My weapon is giving me an error! What do I do?
B: Post it on the comments section. Make sure you specify whether you were playing SP or MP!

A: Can I add you for help?
B: If your question isn't answered in the FAQ, use the comments section. If you see you're not getting enough attention then add me. In general, your mindset should be the not-adding-the-author one, but whatever.

He also play-tested with me since the add-on was first born, making his server available at all times where I could see where weapons lacked prediction or were straight out delayed.
