Scimitar-B Courier Conversion-I

Although the Scimitar-B was entirely unsucessful as a production model of the Scimitar Attack Fighter, it was offered new life when the already-constructed Scimitar-B's were volunteered for a program to convert them into small cargo carriers. The complicated and faulty feed system for the guns was removed, as was the upper cockpit and all of the missile launchers. The power system was left intact and large cargo pods were attached to the launcher hardpoints on the wings.

By time the conversion program was being wrapped up, a new and more successful feed system had been developed for the Scimitar-C, which was then also installed on the B-models converted into couriers. The delay in their introduction was considered worth giving couriers a means to defend themselves from hostile forces. The ammo drums were even extended to allow more ammo storage, though the chainguns are the only weaponry possessed by couriers and do not provide much hitting power.

Like all Scimitars, couriers are lightly-built and cannot survive much battle damage. The couriers are especially vulnerable given their second-line role and vastly reduced armament, but can use their speed to stay ahead of most threats.
