Locomotive #5344 was built as the last J-1E class Hudson for the New York Central Railroad in November 1931. As originally designed, the NYC Hudsons were built for fast passenger services, such as the 20th Century Limited and the Empire State Express. It was later equipped with Scullin driving wheels, and in December of 1944, #5344 was given bathtub streamlining as designed by Carl Kantola. Alongside this streamlining, the locomotive was named the Commodore Vanderbilt. It ran in this configuration until 1939 when it was given its iconic Dreyfuss streamlining and was assigned to the Mercury express train. It kept this streamlining until 1945, and it was scrapped in 1954.

That sounds like an interesting project, but as of right now I am working other smaller things. It probably will be a while if I start on it at all unfortunately.

Dude, Snerso, you really out done yourself with this one, it's absolutely marvellous. hey, could i do a steam train and consist request if possible? specifically the Reading & Northern 425 in her striking 2007-2015 paint scheme with her smaller AUX tender and a fleet of cars? let me know if you're interested cos i always wanted an engine like the 425 in my brick rigs collection.
