🔗 DJG's Bound materials.
Tidy up your survival materials and lighten your load!

❓ What Does This Mod Do?
This mod allows you to bind multiple building materials together using Rope or Sheet Rope, saving weight and space.

✨ Features
  • Bind and stack:
    • Planks
    • Sheet Metal
    • Small Sheet Metal
    • Tree Branches
    • Metal Pipes (Iron Pipes)
    • Lead Pipes
    • Metal Bars
  • Bound materials weigh approximately 40% less
  • Neater, tidier appearance for organized storage
  • Improved space management for inventories, backpacks, and vehicles

⚙️ How It Works
  • Use Rope or Sheet Rope to bind materials
  • Bound bundles are crafted through the right-click context menu or the in-game Crafting menu.
  • Crafting is simple and requires no skills or magazines.

📝 Right click on the materials you wish to bind.
Select, for example, "Bind planks (x5)" from the right-click context menu. You can perform this action from your inventory or on the ground.

📝 Look for the 'Organize' category.
In both Build 41 and Build 42 you can access the crafting menu and search for the Organize category to craft the bound stacks.

🎯 Why Use It?
  • Keep your base, garage, or backyard looking clean
  • Reduce encumbrance while transporting materials
  • Maximize your vehicle storage potential

💡 Survive smarter. Stack better. Stay tidy.

@JD. Valentine: I really like this mod’s icons, and it feels much more realistic for inventory tetris compared to Easy Packing. The only drawback is that it currently supports only resource items. If possible, could you create a patch so your mod overwrites Easy Packing’s resource-packing while leaving the other packing like Battery, bottles,... untouched? That way, both mods can work together without duplicating options in the in-game context menu.

@JD. Valentine thanks!

Also wooden rods and long sticks would be amazing!

I'll take a look at the item and get back to you. Might be a tricky model to make.

Hey @JD. Valentine amazing mod!

Would be too much to add a "Bundle saplings" too?

Latest update introduced Bound Metal Bars (a.k.a 'Steel Bars' ) named Bound Metal Bars. I've done limited testing in both versions, if something's wrong let me know. Thank you everyone. :praisesun: :spiffo:

idunno what encoding i was using, but i know i was using windows and since the last update the translation works fine, so thx

I've introduced the changes for build 41 that should respect the required encoding for Cyrillic characters. I'll start checking out the metal rods as requested soon enough. Please update the mod and let me know how does it go with the new encoding for Build 41 (build 42 should be fine).

I've spoken to much more experienced modders and they suggested Cp1251/Windows-1251 so imma use that one and see how it goes. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get around doing this.

I think that if you change the encoding of the files in the path
\content\108600\3479505015\mods\DJG_BoundMaterials\media\lua\shared\Translate\RU (as I understand it, this is for B41)
to ANSI encoding, then the problems with incorrect display will go away. At least, this is what I did on the B41when I had display issues.

I use Notepad++ myself for translation, but it sometimes saves the text file in a complex encoding, so it's likely that the game engine doesn't understand this encoding correctly. Therefore, I simply re-save the file using the default notepad with the required encoding.
