Build Multiple Star Bases Compatible

Beskrivning
This Compatible mod enables you to build as many star bases in your system as you want. Limited per system by Starbase Capacity.

If this mod gives you carpal tunnel then there is a second version of this mod that is more immersive. It just requires one less click to build a starbase.


How it works: Use a construction ship to build a megastructure and choose the "Starbase Outpost" option to build a new Starbase Outpost. WARNING: It lets you double build but this will simply waste your alloys as the existing starbase will simply block the new one.

The 1 copy of a buff makes sense. It handles defensive aura buildings the same way, where you can only have 1 per grav well. As to blocking over hab worlds, id rather you not, as I know a lot of people use mods that increase the starbase size ( myself included ) and those dont tend to touch orbital rings, making the starbase the better option, especially in fortifying a system. Leave as is, so that there is a choice between the two, not a forced option :)

a lot of the star base buffs apply to the system and if you have Buff1 come from two sources the game will only count it one time. it would blow the scope of this mod out of orbit if i changed all of that.

yes, the game treats these like orbital rings, thats because orbital rings are space stations, also nothing i can do about that, aside from blocking the construction of these starbases around habitable worlds. I might add that over easter, just to reduce these edge cases.

that the bonus to reduce upgrade cost is not applied is suprising to me, since after building them they are just like any other space station, it must be that the primary station that gives controll of a system is treated slightly different still.

this mod should work in EVERY stellaris version that has megastructures and star bases, as long as neither system is too far changed.

thanks for the feedback, it is very hard to testplay for so many cases, as this game is so complex by now.

I have been messing around and found some sort of soft limitation aside from starbase limit. The game sees these starbases as orbital rings and so following those rules, only 1 starbase per major and minor celestial body (counts asteroids as well). Also DO NOT build a starbase around a colonized plant or a planet you want to colonize, else you can never build an orbital ring around said planet because the starbase is the orbital ring.
Some misc: Stacking multiple Cybrex mining drills that boosts mining station output in a single system does not stack. Have not tried it with the Zroni storm caster yet.
The Eternal vigilance perk and edict that builds defense platforms for free every 6 months does not apply to starbases built via the megastructure list. you have to build them manually. Also the -50% starbase upgrade cost buff from the Unyielding tree does not apply to these starbases either.
Aside from these, the mod is working fantastically, even on the 3.99 phoenix beta.
