Real Good Headlights for Modded Trucks

Description
These headlights aim to give you a feeling of real life night time driving. Get ready for a more pleasurable drive at night. Your nights will not seem long enough.

This version is for various modded trucks in American Truck Simulator. My other mod works with the stock SCS trucks. In the Workshop for Euro Truck Simulator 2 you can also find two more versions, one for the SCS trucks and one for modded trucks.

ATS version for SCS trucks
ETS2 version for SCS trucks
ETS2 version for Modded trucks

This will greatly improve the visibility when driving at night. Good visibility was a top priority when creating this mod along with trying to keep as much realism as possible. With these headlights, you will get some light reflected to both sides near the front of the truck which will make it much easier to see when turning at a dark intersection, or turning into a dark entry.

NOTE: For trucks with too much backlighting on the gps which makes it difficult to read the speed limit at night, check out the Discussions message above for the Truck Fixes mod which fixes the backlight on many gps units.

Place this mod above the supported trucks that you wish to use it with.

All of the following modded trucks are supported:

TRUCK NOTES:
Pete 362: At the dealers and repair shops, you can purchase either Halogen or LED lamps for this truck. However, the LED lamps mistakenly supply Xenon lights with them. This mod fixes it and provides LED lights.
Outlaw 359 and Doms 379: These two trucks have way too much tint on the windshield and door glass when viewing through them from the interior of the cab. This makes visibility at night very poor and also reduces the effectiveness of the headlights. Click the Discussions link near the top of this page to discover the fix by using my Truck Fixes mod.
Dodge DN800/D500: To make this work with 1.54 (and higher), in the mod, you must delete a folder and its contents, "/vehicle/truck/share". Until this folder is deleted, the game will crash during startup. Nothing in the folder is needed for the truck to operate. I might make this truck mod available for downloading on my own website as I have done this deletion and also have deleted a couple of hundred other completely unnecessary files that are not used at all. On my system, the truck runs very well.
All Jon Ruda trucks: Adjusted the color temperatures and other settings to compensate for the extra tint on the interior view of the windshield and door glass.
Western Star 4900: This truck is not using the same headlights as the other trucks. This is my PRT Test Vehicle. I am using this truck for testing headlights in anticipation of SCS allowing headlight mods for Project Road Trip. When I have finished using this truck for PRT development, I will install headlights into it just like all the other trucks.
Peterbilt 379: This is the second truck that I have chosen to use for developing headlights for Project Road Trip, so it is currently not using the same headlights as the other trucks. When I have finished using this truck for PRT development, I will install headlights into it just like all the other trucks.
Peterbilt 281-351: This truck has just a little too much tint on the interior view of the door glass and windshield. This reduces visibility at night. Click the Discussions link above to find out how to remove the excessive tint from the glass by using my Truck Fixes mod. It also fixes the bad sound reverberation inside the cab.
90's Corporation Truck: This truck has excessive tint on the windshield which makes visibility very poor at night. Click the Discussions link above to find out how to remove the excessive tint from the glass by using my Truck Fixes mod.
Kenworth T680 General: From Steam, this truck is incompatible with anything past ATS V1.43. But, that is very easy to fix. Read the message I wrote in the T680 General Discussions section. It takes less than a minute to fix.
Rezbilt 389: My Truck Fixes mod fixes the purple tint on the GPS screen as well as a couple of other issues. Check the Discussions message above.

Kruugz, that is a paid mod. I would have to buy it first and since this is a free mod, I can't justify spending money to add trucks. However, if you and a few others would donate some of the cost, I could then buy it. I would be willing to pitch in some of the cost too.

@Maurice, it will be great. I still use it in my VTC fleet with some own reworks:104:

Bonifazzio US, I think the truck needs some fixing first. But, now that I'm getting Truck Fixes going for Steam, I will add the Outlaw W900 to the list for that mod and if it works out OK, I'll get some headlights going for it here.

Hi, Maurice, ma man! What about Outlaw's KW W900 (outlaw.w900)? Or mb i missed em in y list, it seems i noticed only 359..

I've got 4 more trucks (so far) in the next update which should appear this weekend:

Rezworth W900 by Allen Rezbilt
Kenworth T880 by Gallimim, Franck Peru
Volvo VNL 780 by playboY, 55six
T680 General by Harven, Sirblackyalot, Kriechbaum

Each one of these is also in the next update to Truck Fixes. I'll be posting a message in he T680 General discussion area on how easy it is to make this truck work in 1.56 and above. It's actually a pretty nice truck. The headlight mod also includes a special green version of the headlights for this truck since the truck came originally with both stock halogen headlights and green halogen headlights.

Jay Shiretoko, if you are referring to files.clickheresoftware.com , there is no web page there. It is just hosting a few files. Click the download link in the Discussion message above to download the Truck Fixes file it points to.

However, you will find a web page at clickheresoftware.com . But, it doesn't yet have a download link for the Truck Fixes mod.
