Description
The armies of the Empire march ever forward, forged in discipline and strategy!

This mod introduces new State Troop units to the Empire’s military, redefines the roles of existing missile troops, and aligns their stats to reflect a more balanced Imperial force. By adding archers and cavalry to the ranks of State Troops and revising existing gunpowder and crossbow units, the mod offers tactical depth and new options.

New Units:
  • State Troops (Archers): Replace Crossbows as the Empire’s long-range skirmishers. Cheaper and quicker to recruit compared to crossbows or gunpowder units.
  • State Troops (Cavalry): Versatile melee cavalry for frontline and flanking roles, equipped with swords and shields. Combines defensive staying power with solid offensive capability. Provides the Empire with an affordable frontline cavalry option.

Renamed Units: "State Troops (Role)"

Revised Units:
  • Crossbows, reimagined as shorter-range, armor-piercing specialists. Their vanilla role is taken up by the State Troops (Archer).
  • Tweaks some existing ranged units while maintaining Empire identity. Adjustments armor-piercing damage to encourage tactical choices and better balance. Affects Pistoliers, Archers, Huntsmen, Crossbows, Handgunners. Preserves balance while adding variety, encouraging a more tactical approach to battles.

Reworked Garrison! Replaces some units with new ones! Enjoy. Stables give 1 State Troop Cavalry regardless of level.

Known Issues: Because of how Startpos works with garrison units, the new replacements might take a turn or 2 to reach full strenght once the building is 'built' (say, level 2 settlement)

Compatibility:
  • Compatible with vanilla and just about any mod. In case of overhauls like SFO, needs a compatibility patch/alternate version.
  • Savegame compatible.
  • Native support for TabletopCaps.
