Skill Tapes: Carving

In 1 collection by Monkey Magic
Skill Tape Series All-in-One Collection
20 items
Description
Based on Crawling King Chaos' Skill Tapes mod, this mod serves to add VHS sets for the new skills added in B42. I have done this because there does not appear to be any vanilla VHS that relate to the new skills. Like original sets inspired by the above mentioned mods, these can be found in VHS stores around the map.

B42 added six new skills to the game, including Carving, Glassmaking, Knapping, Masonry, the new version of Metalworking (Blacksmithing) and Pottery. This is the Carving set.

@megalomaniac - Nope. CDs are all just for entertainment in vanilla AFAIK. No point in changing that

Do you plan on making a CD version of the skill tapes?

@yayle - Check out the new Video Meister Patch mod in my workshop. The mod Video Meister adds the information you were talking about, so either you have the mod installed, or your had it at some point, because once enabled the tooltip text remains enabled for that game same.

This patch will add tooltip information for the new skills that are missing from that mod.

@SugarBits - As I mentioned on another set, the Skill Tapes series is designed to be slotted in, as per the requirements of the individual. As such, I have no plan to amalgamate them all into one mod.

Besides, the logistics of such is just crazy. Each tape has a ton of of information required - a whole bunch of crazy ass reference numbers and stuff - and each set already contains 6 tapes. Can you imagine the size of the file a full collection would be?

Now, file size itself isn't the issue - but navigating through all that to make corrections, and adjustments is painful already. I have no desire to make things more difficult for myself XD

Could you add a collection or make one mod that contains all of these at once? It's a little annoying to have download them one by one. Just a minor complaint.

@yayle - I looked around, and I think you are probably using a mod called Video Meister This mod appears to add the tooltip information that you described. So yeah, you would need to contact the author of that mod, and get them to update it add support for the new skills.

@yayle - Again, not sure what you mean here. When hovering over a tape, all you should be seeing is the display name, the title and subtitle, and encumbrance. Can you link a screenshot, coz I don't see this even with vanilla tapes like cooking and woodworking :/

So far, Fishing, Foraging, Trapping are good, no issues.

Carving and Pottery, I think I found the tapes but no idea if its gives out XP.

Still looking out on Masonry and Knapping.

@Monkey Magic I mean is when you found the skill tape, then you hover your mouse on the tape. A description of the tape will appear.

Inside that description box, for a vanilla skill tapes, it has "You may able to gain XP". This message appear on your Trapping and Foraging tapes but not on Pottery and Carving.

Makes me wonder if its a skill tapes or not.

@yayle - Not sure what you mean here. The tapes award a set number of XP as you progress through them, the same as vanilla tapes. The ▲ marker will pop up as you are awarded XP, and when progressing over to a second stage will pop up twice.

Meanwhile, the XP bar shows the results of XP earned, although like the vanilla tapes, these sometimes will not show if you are hovering over the bar, and you have to mouse off and back on to see them display. (totally a vanilla issue, btw)

If you aren't seeing any of this, check what other mods you have installed that might be causing an issue.
