@Erzherzog Habsburg: Thanks! I'll definitely keep those in mind if I decide to make a Sassanid roster

@TheChosenman I am actually thinking about making a guide when I have the time, but in the meantime, Mortarch of Blood pretty much nailed it. Total War Wiki has a good guide that I used to get started, and Sebidee has a really good guide for creating unit cards.

Just so you know, the word Pirates in Viking is Viking. So you might want to change the name of that unit. Call them Raiders or something else similar to pirates or vikings.

Often you'll find that guides or videos are referencing the wrong game name, this is because its the same process most of the time for all TW games. Also join a modding community on Discord too as you'll find people willing to give advice or help. I dont know the names of any for this game, I mod Warhammer TW series, although I'm not a unit modder tbh so wont be much help I'm afraid

TheChosenman - there are tutorials on the Guides section for this game.
There are also multiple videos on YT
and also on various sites.
You will need a programme called RPFM - easily found via google
Also download the software from the TW devs, which can be found in Steam - Library (just above the search bar for your games) and select software rather than games. It will show you all the software for the games you own provided by the devs (not every single game though, only a few actually release these such as TW)
Through RPFM and the TW software for this game, you'll be able to create new generals, units, etc

this is fantastic, absolute long shot here but is there any chance you will do a tutorial on how to make units or generals ect

Greetings, I love your mod so much and have a couple of suggestions for you if would like to make a Sassanid unit mod!

[Heavy units]
Daylamite guard:very heavy armored sword infantry that could fight Hetaireia guards and Gesithas. Sassanid version of Herculiani but more aggressive.
(Ypu can take a look at Daylamite guard video from Invicta!)

noble horse archers: heavy armored horse archers accessible in city centre palace building and town centre noble estate building.

noble cataphracts: heavy armored melee cavalry wielding maces accessible in city centre palace building and town centre noble estate building.

Azat knights: Extremely strong melee cavalry with high morale, can defeat Tagmata cavalry easily but only accessible in highest level stables and expensive.

heavy savaran cavalry: heavy armored melee cavalry with spears.

eastern armored axes: heavy axemen.
Erzherzog Habsburg 7 Jan @ 10:35am
[light units]
eastern spears: cloth armor and hat, wicket shield, normal spears. Cheap but not as lame as Paighan band.

Persian horse skirmishers: light javelin missile cavalry.

hillmen:light axe infantry with 2 javelin, fast moving and nice melee damage. Accessible in towns.

Caucasian axemen:light axemen that could hold lines, accessible in town militia camps.

Arabian scout infantry: light sword infantry like spice warriors in vanilla.
Erzherzog Habsburg 7 Jan @ 10:07am
[Medium units]
Persian cavalry: mid armored cavalry with spears, more accessible than Persian mounted warrior in vanilla game.

Savaran horse archers: brilliant horse archers with medium armor and wielding sword or maces for melee.

Armenian archers: medium armored archers with fast moving abilities and fast shooting stats.

Daylamite cavalry: medium cavalry with 3 javelin and fast moving abilities.

Persian pikemen

Persian light infantry: sword infantry with decent armor(similar to eastern marines in vanilla)
