Allegiance of the Damned: Chaos Confederation [OoD]

Description
Introduction
This mod was originaly created by Wolfy and has been maintained recently by ɼﻉٱƈѻɼٱกﻭค and team. This version is an interim upload while we wait for ɼﻉٱƈѻɼٱกﻭค to update. Please check out their original mods below. I have done my best to copy their formatting in the description section.

This mod allows Chaos factions to confederate each other in a very similar fashion as to the Greenskins and Norsca. If you defeat an enemy champion in battle, you will get a dilemma to either confederate or release them.

Changes from the ToD version
  • Skulltaker and Arbaal have been added to Khorne, Valkia, Belakor, and Daemon Prince confederation lists.
  • Arbaal has been added to the Archaon confederation list, since he's technically a mortal that buffs mortals.
  • Taurox has been added to the Khorne confederation lists, as he overlaps well with the Khorne beast roster now.
  • Khorne blue campaign skills have had faction restrictions removed, and will no longer be missing after confederation.
  • Ancillaries (mounts and items) for legendary lords and heroes that are non-random and non-transferable are no longer faction locked, allowing characters to use their unique mounts and items after confederation.

Description from ɼﻉٱƈѻɼٱกﻭค
This has been tailored to be loreful, so factions can only confederate each other if they follow the same god. Undivided champions, however, can confederate anyone. You can check the possibilities in the graph below:

Additionally, confederation via diplomacy between Warriors of Chaos has also been enabled. Note this will not enable cross-race confederation, so you will still have to defeat the lords for that.

Chaos Dwarf confederation is disabled by default, but can be turned on in MCT. They can confederate Daemon Prince, Belakor, Archaon, and Kholek, but not other Chaos Dwarfs (doing that to respect their system). They can be allowed to confederate any faction in the MCT config.

Any faction that don't have cities(aka Changeling), when confederating will DESTROY the loser cities.
Any faction that confederate Daniel won't be able to change his items.

Balance and Gameplay
It is very probable that the Chaos factions end up snowballing and being a very huge threat the same way Grimgor was in Warhammer II. This feature is not only limited to the player, so be prepared to see Chaos becoming an unstoppable enemy. The AI can and will use this feature in all difficulties.

Configuration
The mod is prepared to work together with Groove Wizard's MCT . If installed, you will be able to decide if minor factions can also use this feature or it should be limitated to legendary lords. Other configurations may arrive in the future.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • Does this mod work with Recruit Defeated Legendary Lords?: As far as I know both mods remain fully compatible and many users use both together without issues. Here's a link to it: https://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2854819509
  • I can not confederate X lord playing as Y!: Check the graph above, listed twice, to see how confederations work. An arrow A -> B means A can confederate B. If that arrows does not exist or goes the other way around, your lord can not confederate that faction. If it is in the table and it does not work, then feel free to report.
  • Can you make it so X can confederate all Chaos Factions?: This is already available as MCT flags.
  • What's the difference between this mod and Alex Zhao's?: His mod just enables diplomacy confederation between Warriors of Chaos (which is also included here). My mod enables cross-race confederation between all Chaos factions. Having both mods installed is redundant, unless you want the Tomb Kings part.
  • I completely wiped a faction and now I can not confederate it: It is not possible to confederate a faction that does not exist anymore.
  • Diplomacy confederation is not working: Diplomacy-based confederation only works between Warriors of Chaos. Cross-race is only available after a defeat.
  • After I confederated X lord, specific feature Y it is not working well: Cross-race confederation is not viable ingame, and it is not coded by CA to be fully supported. What this mod does is bypassing the limitations, hence allowing you to confederate cross-race, but a lot of problems can still happen where you do not get access to race specific features. An example of this would be not being able to unlock new equipment for Daniel after confederating him.
  • Can X lord confederate Y lord?: If the dozen of times this is explained in the description is not enough for you, I think you got bigger problems than this mod.
  • Is this multiplayer compatible?:Yes.
  • Is this savegame compatible?:Yes

Mod Compatibility/Integration
This mod works with everysingle mod that i know!
We have Integration with the following mods:
  • SCM's LCCP, 16 new factions for IEE!
New Undivided Chaos Warriors are normaly placed at the same level as Kholek.

Special Thanks
Thanks to Wolfy for creating this incredible mod, and to ɼﻉٱƈѻɼٱกﻭค and team for continuing to update and support it. I was able to get approval from both Wolfy and ɼﻉٱƈѻɼٱกﻭค for the upload, so this mod is officially sanctioned.

Thank you so much!

Yes, as far as I know they work fine together fine. If you confederate someone you get them as normal with all their settlements and armies, if they are destroyed then you recruit them through the other mod. I've been meaning to add a note on that to the FAQ section, as I've gotten that question quite a few times. My understanding is that a significant number of subscribers to this mod use both together without issue.

Apologies if this has been asked before, but how does this mod interact with Recruit Defeated Legendary Lords?

Playing as Arbaal right now and I was at war with Skulltaker. During the end turn Skulltaker attacked me and I won, but at the start of the turn I didn't get opportunity to confederate and I couldn't save the game. I could take my turn properly, but the save button in the menu was greyed out. When I attacked Skulltaker on my turn and won a 2nd time, I did get the confederation event and afterwards I was able to save again.

Not sure what happened here, usually the event works fine if I get attacked during end turn. Maybe it has to do with Skulltaker technically being wounded during first combat, but being reforged? Just wanted to point this out, mod works perfectly otherwise

@sajaxom yes i use the Mod Configuration Tool - v0.9 Beta, but i use other mod too so then i think it is some complication with another mod but it would be weird because only the mct option not showing and the rest is working fine

By the way, the update works in an existing save, so if you've got a game going you should be fine to update and go grab Taurox. I tested with both Arbaal and Skulltaker before and after the change on existing saves.

I take that back - I'm just dumb and terrible at keeping track of my old campaigns. I was running an experimental branch with Taurox, and the two lines needed to confederate him were not in the main branch. I'm sorry, everyone. Well, as of today's update he is confederable for Skarbrand, Arbaal, and Skulltaker. Thank you to all those that complained about it, and my apologies again.

@1sfef: I've confirmed with my testing that confederating Taurox as Arbaal and Skulltaker is not working. Something's obviously changed there recently in the core game files, as I've still got a save as Skulltaker with Taurox in tow. I'll keep poking around and see what I can find. I haven't made any published changes to the core mod since before Taurox stopped working, so it's likely something within the database.

@Fasc over Freedom and g.marzioni89: I just ran through a test run with Archaon and I'm not having any trouble confederating and then recruiting Tamurkhan. You do need to have "Archaon can confederate everyone" on in the MCT settings for the mod, though, as Tamurkhan is a monogod lord, and not part of the default set for Archaon to confederate. Arbaal is available as an exception to the rule since he's specifically chaos mortals focused.

@jimmymenNL: I'm not having any trouble viewing the mod settings in MCT, just verified during my test run. Are you using the Mod Configuration Tool - v0.9 Beta that's linked to the mod?

i have this mod an MTC enabled but i do not see anything in the MTC for this mod at all, is that mabye because of the update?
