Scrap Upgrade UI Framework (7.0)

Since 6.0, CA limited the scrap-upgrade system to Greenskins and Wood Elves only.

Many mods rely on this system, so this mod enables the relevant UI functionality for all races (except Clan Moulder) by overwriting two UI files.

The screenshot shows examples using Bretonnia and Cathay. This mod only adjusts the TWUI files—it does not add any upgrades on its own.


Enable the scrap-upgrade UI to all races, so that other mods depending on it function properly.

Allows multiple mods adding upgrades to the same unit to coexist without conflict.

The upgrade button appears in the army panel only when the selected army contains upgrade-eligible units (thanks to @Backmechuisa for the suggestion).

Clan Moulder is excluded to prevent a potential free-upgrade exploit, as they are intended to use the Flesh Lab instead.



Safe to add or remove mid-campaign.

Compatible with all mods except those that overwrite the same UI files (hud_campaign and unit_panel_scrap_upgrades)

When major DLCs or patches release, if CA adds new UI buttons, this mod may need an update. It usually still works, but newly added buttons may be hidden until updated.



Q: Where is the scrap upgrade button?
A: It appears in the army panel. It stays hidden if the selected army has no upgrade-eligible units.

Q: Why can I only purchase one upgrade?
A: This is unrelated to this UI mod. In vanilla, Greenskins and Wood Elves can buy all upgrades, but most modded upgrades restrict you to one. Contact the respective mod author if you want that changed.

Q: Some unit cards in the upgrade UI default to Greenskins!
A: This happens when a unit lacks a large card asset. It can occur for both vanilla and modded units. It’s purely cosmetic and does not affect functionality.

Q: Why are there upgrades I can see but cannot buy?
A: You can view all available upgrades, but your faction may lack the required resource. Example: Duke of Bretonnia adds scrap upgrades for Montfort; other Bretonnian factions can see them but cannot purchase them.
