This might also apply if you've copied the example map custom story to your mods folder, but only the addon needs to be copied. Custom stories that use the addon don't need to be copied to work.
It also provided a challenge even on normal difficulty for experienced players like myself, and I can imagine playing around with the sandbox and the provided assets in a way that benefits my understanding of the engine and the AI further. . As someone recently working on a project involving advanced mechanics like in this one, my appreciation for this gem is just off the charts.
