That said I have asked around and some shaders do apparently have problems on AMD on the current branch of L4D2 it seems and I'm not aware of any easy workarounds to it. It will take me a while to figure out exactly what is going on since this is only happening to users with AMD cards, unfortunately.
I ran some tests with some friends and it seems to be something related to DirectX and how it computes the shaders I'm using for this mod but this is a first for me. I'm using an Nvidia card and my friend was on AMD and had the same issue you did. Are you also on AMD by any chance or no?
