Skyrim Encounters and Themes: Halloween

Description
THIS MOD HAS BEEN REPLACED BY SET FOR HALLOWEEN 2016. You may subscribe to it, here: SET for Halloween 2016. You should unsubscribe from this mod before subscribing to the new one.

This mod adds new draugr, and plenty of spooky scenery and creepy clutter to Skyrim. It also transforms many guards and some shopkeepers into vampires, ghosts, werewolves, bone draugrs, or gargoyles. There are even terrifying treats and children dressed in costumes.

DAWNGUARD is required. The mod is completely safe, as no changes are permanent. When you decide to unsubscribe, the Skyrim "nightmare" will end. All architecture, clutter, food, guards and citizens will return to normal.

WHAT'S NEW. See New in the Latest Update, below.

1. Description

I've always enjoyed dressing up and decorating for Halloween, so I thought it would be fun to do the same for Skyrim. Town guards and shopkeepers are transformed into ghosts, vampires, werewolves and the like. Most of the children are dressed in costumes, pretending to be vampires, witches, soldiers, executioners and yes, even the Dovakin. It's the first in what might become a new series of mods, Skyrim Encounters and Themes. If you like the mod, or would like to see more added to it, please consider adding it as a favorite, or rating it. I will expand it if there is enough interest.

2. What This Mod Adds
===================

* More Monsters: Now you'll encounter more than one kind of draugr in the game's dark dungeons. Along side the normal draugr, you'll also find bloody draugr, who are bathed in blood from head to toe. And the new burnt draugr are completely scorched over every inch of their bodies, but they still keep coming! If there is continued interest in this mod, I'll add more new monsters, such as ghost, frozen and invisible draugr, and give each one unique powers to make them an even greater challenge.

* Beastly Braziers with Jack-O-Lanters: Whiterun, Whiterun Hold towers and vampire strongholds are now lit with carved pumpkins in each brazier. The Jack-o-lanterns flicker with an errie glow.

* Creepy Clutter: Throughout Skyrim you will find skull candles; and cooking pots with slimy or bloody skulls and severed hands; and bloody sawmills, wood chopping blocks, woodcutting axes, pickaxes, buckets and more.

* Frightening Food and Ingredients: Cannibalism is not just for Markarth any more! In every tavern, and at many a campfire, dining table and kitchen, you will see citizens cooking human body parts, eating severed hands, and drinking from blood-filled tankards and goblets. The sweet rolls and nut treats even have eyeballs! All of these you may buy and eat yourself. You may also harvest human flesh--which is no longer a rare ingredient for potions--from severed hands, and bloody arm and leg bones. You'll find these body parts hanging next to dead fish, rabbits and pheasants throughout Skyrim.

* Ghastly Guards: Many of the guards of of Skyrim's towns and holds are transformed into monsters of various kinds. In Whiterun at night, ghost guards haunt the streets. By day, any Whiterun guard might transform into a werewolf if provoked. In Riften, bone draugr patrol the boardwalks each evening. After midnight, vampire guards inhabit Solitude. Start a fight with them, and they'll use their vampric drain spell as well as their sword to take you down. Guards in the Solitude jail, in the Blue Palace and patrolling the streets by day are now dressed as executioners and wielding executioner axes. In Morthal, day or night, the guards are all vampires. The guards of other towns will be changed if there is enough interest in this mod. Let me know what you'd like them to become.

* Scary Citizens: In Whiterun, the shopkeepers are changed, too. Arcadia the alchemist is a witch, which you might guess from her witch hat. Get her angry, and you might get burned by her spells. Belethor is now one ugly vampire, with spells and powers of the race. It's an appropriate fit for his ghoulish humor. Ulfberth at the forge is what any good Nord of Whiterun should be, a werewolf. Don't make him angry. You might not like it when he gets angry! Outside Whiterun, Solitude, Dawnstar and Windhelm you'll find vampire khajiits selling their wears. Their freakishly long fangs give them away. Whiterun has the Headless Horsecart Man as a carriage driver. He drives an evil black steed, with glowing red eyes. While the Solitude carriage driver is now dressed in an executioner's outfit and has an executioner's axe.

* Costumed Kids: Many of the children of Skyrim are now dressed up as vampires, witches, executioners, soldiers and even the Dovakin.

* Wicked Waters: The waters of Whiterun are running red with blood! (It's easier to see during daylight, than in the dark of night.)

Version 4.0 Adds:

* Markarth Gargoyle Guards: Evening patrol and museum guards are now gargoyles. Male commanders are grey boss gargoyles, male guards are green gargoyles, female and museum guards are albino gargoyles.

* Riften Bone Draugr Guard Sound Effects: Added the creaking bone sound effects to each bone draugr guard.

Yeah, I know. I played Skyrim and all it's DLC's on the PS3 version, it was only this year that I got the chance to play and mod Skyrim for PC. I just... forgot to buy the legendary edition... heh

Porter: Yeah, it's worth it. You get to become a vampire hunter or a vampire lord. Only bad thing is the vampires attack the cities and kill shopkeepers. So you have to be careful to protect them.

Another mod you might like:

Lycans vs Vampires

(You don't need Dawnguard to use that one, but the vampires you fight have the vampire armor if you do have it.)

Skeletongs: They use the same voice as normal guards. Since they are spirits of the dead, phrases like, "I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took an arrow in the knee," take on new meaning. You know? He was alive till he took an arrow in the knee!

Hopefully Dawnguard is on sale before October, that's the only way I'll save money on it, but either way, I'll have Dawnguard before Halloween, and you better believe I'll be downloading this mod in a heartbeat!

do the ghost guards speak in that echoed voice that vanilla ghosts do?
