A testbed and first successful Generation 2 IIN design, the Carronade Class served as a heavy fire support vessel for fleet operations. Sporting 12 Forward Railguns, 17 Artillery Turrets, 11 Assault Turrets, and 5 Gatling PDCs, the ship is capable of bringing devastating firepower to bear on a single target. On top of this, it is the first IIN design to utilize composite armor techniques, affording the ship excellent protection from most firing angles. On top of this powerful armament, the ship mounts an experimental Rocket Carronade system for close range broadside fire, including 2 custom turrets on the ventral side. Unfortunately due to its heavy weight, the ship is incapable of flight in atmosphere, though it may be capable of lunar flight, but no testing has been carried out to prove this. It does posses incredible gyroscopic authority for a ship its size, and shouldn't struggle keeping its weapons to bear on almost any target. Overall, she functions best as a brawler, using her armor to tank shots while dishing out punishment from just about any range.
