Terraformed Norway Fjord map - Edhelluin

This terraformed map is heavily inspired by Norwegian fjords featuring a central lake that points in between tall rocky plateaus, an extremely rough environment for any kind of large infrastructure.

The available land for building is limited to 60-90ha, compared to the roughly 400ha of a fully flat map. I do not recommend this map to players new to modular building and the current terraforming constraints. Several areas are drawn out with fences that would be excellent for building enclosures and the necessary park infrastructure, only some of which are flattened. All areas can be accessed without destroying the current landscape, either with tunnels, bridges or following narrow paths winding around the lake.
I had to make compromises in creating this preset map, and I decided that sight lines from down at lake level are more important than having the tops of the plateaus accessible: this creates the effect of the fjords extending straight into the snow-capped mountains of the original boreal map skirt, covering the dry grass texture and forests that cannot be changed.

I added several prefabs by other creators that are mere suggestions of what ideas and styles to go for, but none are strictly required. There are two roads, an implied railway and an implied ferry service that serve as starting points for creating an entrance.
Next to one of the ferries I placed a fancy modern hotel as a type of implied accommodation; but perhaps a wooden lodge or camp ground suits the vibe better.
I created a low-effort walkway for a hiking path, but included a raised walkway set for people wanting to make use of the waterside to connect parts of the park.
To access the central ¨island¨ I placed down many prefabricated bridges at the suggested location for crossing the water; feel free to keep the one you prefer and remove the rest.
