Description
"Bordering the coastal cities of Holtland and south of the Frysk giants lay the woods of the Coubouters. Here their kings dwell in the hills, ruling over the forests and know all who dwell among the trees. The Coubouten prefer to live away from the human cities of Holtland, retreating into the forested hills as Holtland expands. In the woods among the animals the Coubouten lamented their faith till they found a new power deep within the woods. This Awakened God told them they should flee no longer. They would lead them to conquer all the forests in the world as their new home. They would teach humanity and all other races that favored cities to stay out of the forests.

Now the scouts that wandered the countryside march across the lands looking for enemy temples to plunder. The jonkheren no longer marshal the militia because a pack of hungry wolves was sighted but because another city has been declared an enemy to the Awakened God. The Coubouten now march in a holy war against the civilized races."

Toxandria was an idea that's been bouncing around my brain for a while now. Finally had the inspiration to finish it. It's a nation based on folklore around gnomes from the Low Countries. They're a hair smaller than hoburgs but less interested in food. Instead they're highly sneaky with an empathic connection to animals.

Mechanically they're tiny but strong with high stealth, a focus on polearms and strong Glamour magic. They suck at building forts that keep out the big folks but at least you're getting a bunch of flavorful events. Coubouten are after all excellent thieves. Gems, gold, magic items, if it can fit in your basket why wouldn't you take it?

Yes it's another EA nation. And I gave in to peer pressure, you now got new pretenders.

Just a regular attack speed, it's MR easy so you should roll against it pretty reliably.

How often does the sight loss trigger? Practically all of their troops inflict it so it sounds like fighting them is an exercise in Pyrrhic victories with most factions given the armies of blind men you'll soon be leading around.

Nothing wrong with offering help with the grammar. As a foreign language English can be a struggle. I'll add that to the next version though that might take a while before I push it.

I'm trying this out and finding it quite funny. The flavor is top-notch.

My only complaint, being a former English tutor, is that you need to put an extra o on "to" when saying something is "too much". It sticks out in the line about pikes being used to make enemies bleed when "they are to(o) tall too decapitate." But that is just nitpicking

Wow! These kabouters are exactly what I remember from the picture books at my grandparents place. Great sprites!

Yes I tried with undying/enchanted blood but I could not produce enough sacred to achieve a satisfactory critical mass. I'll try these geese riders - but they are fagiles and cost >40 rec points at this moment ;)

The rec points are probably just to high. I relied a bit on autocalc and the game overvalues age a lot. I should probably bring them more in line with hoburgs.

I do find HP bless works really well on them. The units in general hit pretty hard of you keep them away from ranged attacks. For those you need the geese riders.

Hello, very nice nation with gorgeous sprites, so flavorful, congrats!
I just wonder how to play efficiently this nation? Unit's recruitment points are very high (<40 pts for their sacred)- much higher than other nations - while they fall like flies in battles with their low HP, medium defence, no glamour. It's hard to amass good quantities of these little gnomes, even with 2 order scales. it's early age with low populations, they just have primitive forts... would you share any advices ? thanks a lot :)

The Gnome pill is the bitterest to swallow, but the most rewarding.
