The AKS-74U (Russian: Avtomat Kalashnikova Skladnoy obraztsa 1974 goda Ukorochenniy; transl. Folding Kalashnikov Assault Rifle of the 1974 Model, Shortened; sp. -- "Ksiukha", "Suchka", "Bastard") is a Kalashnikov assault rifle with a folding stock and shortened barrel, developed as a more mobile version of the standard AK-74. It is essentially a carbine based on the AK-74.
