Description
Map by Skull Boy. The first part of the Trilogy.

Finally, I'm done porting another one of my favorite maps from "Zombie Master". Actually, it's a series of maps called "Desert", all of which were very fun to play on ZM.

When porting this map, I started to think that, from a gameplay perspective, maybe those maps weren't really fun to play in NMRiH due to their level design, which was created for ZM, of course, however, perhaps I'm mistaken. Leave your opinion on "ports" for NMRiH, and which of these "ports" are your favorites.

I'm not sure if I'll port the next two maps from the "Desert" series, maybe later, but my next project will be a map from an old shooter game. It will be difficult, as I will probably need to remake the map from scratch, so it will be an interesting experience for me.

Also, there is a secret room on the map, but you need to guess the code for it. I have left some hints on the map. Try to figure it out! ;)

Story

It's the year 2015 in the Nevada desert. In 2010 the goverment decided to build 3 classified bases here: The Tower, Sky Station and the Underground laboratory. The was an accident in the lab that unleashed a virus which infected most of the workers in the facilities.

По идеям, думал сначала портануть все 3 части этой серии карт, но сейчас нет такого желания, т.к. в процессе работы над этой картой мне показалось, что карта выходит скучной в рамках NMRiH'a, да и просто надоело тупо портировать ZM карты, а так в планах на будущее: портировать один уровень из совершенно другой игры и потом попробовать сделать свою карту с нуля, но пока что то нету сил и мотивации ко всему этому приступить, так что хз когда все это будет :steamsad:

Очень рад, что кто-то портанул эту карту. Я на неё смотрел еще года 3 назад, (а может и больше) и очень хотелось её использовать в NMRIH. В ZM, ещё очень много подобных по качеству карт и даже шикарнее - Какие идеи дальше по этому поводу?

Having a timed objective really leaves out replay ability for the map due to the fact you cant really play it in anyway you want. Like runners only or increased amount of runners. I personally didn't enjoy this style of timed objectives.

Технически спам все таки есть, в финальной секции на лифте бегуны действительно бесконечные, возможно с ними справиться не так сложно, особенно с мачете, но думаю они могут быстро выкосить неопытных игроков, в любом случае, я просто не знаю как еще можно было сделать данный сегмент хоть как то динамичным.

@Qwazzy I'm agree that the timers are not really fun idea, they were originally designed by the map creator, and I decided not to edit them at all. Yes, it's doesn't really fit into NMRiH gameplay, it works better in Zombie Master.

About runners, yeah, I know, they're annoying, but I just don't know how to make the final elevator section more dynamic, maybe someone else can do it better, but that's all I can do for this port, atleast with my current map skills. Perhaps the last runners spawn is redundant, maybe I will delete it in a future update.

Хорошая работа, продолжай в том же духе :steamthumbsup:. Никакого спама бегунов здесь нету, их вполне адекватное количество, и лично мне задания понравились в целом.

I have mixed feelings about this map as an NMRIH map. It's got a cool design with a sky station/ship/something and windows to look out from (even if there's not much to see).

But on the negative side, it's yet another runner-spammy map, which we have way too many of these days. Pair that with multiple timers that end in near-instant-death if you don't outrun them and it's not feeling much like NMRIH anymore, and not in a good way.

I'm well aware that the game this was ported from is what's influencing the playstyle here, but when I think of fun NMRIH maps to revisit again and again, I don't think of pressure timers and runner spam.

(And for those wondering what the secret room is, it's just two inventory boxes and a few health items.)
