MoreGears

Description
Have you ever dreamed of producing motorcycles or even larger vehicles like tractors in Gearcity? MoreGears has arrived to meet that demand.

MoreGears adds a total of 7 new vehicle types to the game, including various types of motorcycles, buses, and tractors. There are 44 new vehicle body types for those who like to customize their vehicles their way—all customizable. We've also added 6 new highly customizable tire types to suit the new vehicle types. If you’re not into customizing vehicles and just want to choose one of the pre-made models, don’t worry; we have 77 pre-made vehicle models ready to use.

And there's more. We've added several new components to be used in the production of motorcycles and heavy vehicles. Do you remember that +2000nm torque engine you developed but couldn’t utilize its full power because the game's transmission boxes couldn’t handle such power? That will no longer be a problem, thanks to the new high-power versions of the transmission boxes in the game. We've also expanded the number of gears from 8 to 18 and remodeled the Wankel engine to use 1 to 12 rotors.

Regarding artificial intelligence and balancing in the game, all added components and vehicle types have been balanced according to the pros and cons of each component. The game's AI will use the components dynamically over the years, just like the player. If a mod component is more beneficial for the AI, it will use it just as the player would. The popularity of vehicle types has been adjusted to reflect reality while balancing with other aspects of the game. Over the years, the popularity of vehicles will also vary.

To refresh the game’s atmosphere, 34 new songs were added. We also added 12 new competition types so you can put your motorcycles up against the models created by the AI, and there are also some competitions for tractors.

MoreGears has become a much larger mod than I initially anticipated. Many balancing details may have been overlooked. If you have any balancing suggestions, please leave them in the comments below. It’s worth noting that if you modify any component, you will need to create a new game for the changes to take effect.

As I mentioned earlier, MoreGears is a much larger mod than I initially thought, but there are many more things that can be added—new components, new vehicle types, new models, new accessories, contracts, translations, etc. Gearcity has a major DLC in development, which will unlock many new possibilities. Models will need to be reworked or even redone. Since component balancing and especially 3D modeling consume a lot of time, I can’t guarantee any new models or reworks of existing models. - I'm subscribed to the mod but it doesn't appear in the game.

- Is MoreGears compatible with old saves?
No, MoreGears is not compatible with old saves. You will need to create a new save to play this mod.

- My game is crashing. Could it be the mod?
In general, all mods for Gearcity are very stable and unlikely to be the reason for your game crashing. However, if this is happening to you, please let us know in the comments.

- Is the mod graphically intensive and could it cause performance issues on weaker hardware?
All models in the game are low-poly, especially those made by me, so it is highly unlikely that the mod will cause performance issues. Additionally, there aren’t many new components or variables that could cause noticeable slowdowns in gameplay.

- You said the mod adds up to 18 gears to the game’s transmission boxes. I’m in 2020 and still don’t see all 18 gears in the game. Why?
Each component has its own introduction year and minimum skill level. If you don’t achieve the necessary skill to develop component X, even after its introduction year, you won’t have unlocked the component. Increase your investment in research to improve your skills and develop more complex components as soon as they become available. Additionally, from the 9th gear onwards, only automatic or high-power transmission boxes will be compatible.

- As the game does not have a system to limit components to be used in specific vehicle types, you can use any engine, of any size and power, to make a Standard Motorcycle, for example. This also applies to the game's AI. Unfortunately, nothing can be done about this, but I believe some components designed to be used in motorcycles will have better overall characteristics than any other component in the game.

- High-power transmission boxes, when equipped with many gears, may have negative reliability values. This happens because the game uses several variables to determine component reliability. In this case, to grant a torque increase of approximately 2 times compared to the same standard gearbox model in the game, it was necessary to increase the number of gears by 20 times for each high-power gear. This is not shown in the game, but a 1 HD gear, for the game, has 20 gears, and the 18 HD, for example, has 360 gears, which pulls the reliability to negative values. A solution for this would be to use fewer high-power gears. If reliability is not a problem for you, this will not be an issue.

All 3D models, except for the bus models, are free models available on the internet, slightly modified to be introduced into the game. I would like to mention each artist who made each model, but I only started saving this information for the last 4 or 5 models, so I opted to give collective credit to each of the responsible artists.

All the music was generated by AI (Suno). If you are a YouTuber or streamer, like all other Gearcity music, the new music added by this mod is completely copyright-free.

All component and vehicle type art was made by me, using game images or images from the internet as a base.

@Tick the problem is most likely with the Linux version of the game, I can't do much about it :'(

Any chance for an update? Keeps crashing after asking about tutorial. Could also be a Ubuntu thing though.

@badpat you can choose any suspension you want since there's no bonus effect for choosing a specific type like Crossover suspension or any other. I always use the double wishbone suspension
