Hotbar Attachments Weight Reduction Fixes & Overhaul (requires Java mod)

Description

Requires HotbarFactor (Java Mod) to work properly! That needs to be manually installed!

Installation
  1. Manually install HotbarFactor (Java Mod)
  2. Subscribe to this workshop item!
  3. Activate the mod
  4. That's it :)

Why use this mod?
Ever wished your zomboidsona could holster their pistol without getting overencumbered? Ever felt like the obscene amount of hotbar slots from all your mods were more than just marginally useful? Are you already using Noir's Attachments' and its backpack weight reduction feature? Then this mod is for you :)

What does this mod do?
Without HotbarFactor (Java Mod), items attached to hotbar slots can only benefit from a hard-coded 30% weight reduction. With HotbarFactor (Java Mod), we can bypass that and enable this hotbar attachment weight reduction overhaul to function, providing the following features:
  • Increase from the hard-coded 30% weight reduction (or decrease, if you want; it's all customizable with Sandbox options);
  • Different hotbar weight reductions per slot type (e.g., items attached to a belt will be reduced by a different amount from items attached to a holster);
  • Weapons attached to the hotbar can get weight reduction for every corresponding skill level: Long Blunt for bats and acoustic guitars, Aiming and Reloading for firearms and other ranged weapons;
  • Any item attached to backpack attachment slots provided by Noir's Attachments can use the backpack's weight reduction;
  • Enable or disable or tweak many of these conditions and values with Sandbox options!

Lorem ipsum
i want to describe this mod some more but it was a long journey getting it to playable state 😭 this is a slightly playtested version: that is, I play PZ with it, so I'll update with bugfixes as I find them, but if you can help (yes, you!) by reporting any issues or unexpected behavior, please do! Thank you so much!!

As creator of the mod; do you have any suggestions of settings to put for both a realistic and playable weight reduction? I use noirs attachments btw. I tried doing it myself but I don't really understand what most of the sandbox settings do so was just wondering if you had any suggestions for me in terms of settings thanks

incredible extension to noir attachments slots while just making sense! Thank you for this great mod! I hope in the future of PZ such things will no longer be hard-coded and things like HotbarFactor will be able to be modified without manual installations

yes, and it needs to be installed by each player and into the server (per my testing!)

Does this work in Multiplayer?

And if so... Does HotbarFactor need to be installed manually by each player or it's something that should be installed for the server files?

yes they're compatible technically, but it should be unnecessary to use the other one unless you insist on using the original weight handling logic from Noir's Attachments :D and thank you!

Is all your weight reduction fix mods compatible with each other?

Looks promising! Great work!
