(I found out too late that there is already a mod for lidar)

Controls:
- LMB: scan
- RMB: scan a large radius at a moment, causes a 30 second cooldown
- R: clear scanned points
- N: make the entire map completely dark

Lidar uses laser light to measure distances by illuminating a target and measuring the time it takes for the reflected light to return to the receiver. It can scan in different directions to create 3D maps of objects.

no, this is a fairly simple version of the mod without any horror features

@Lemonz

It plagued Garry's mod and the community for about a week I think. It was a while ago but since then, a lot of people have become scared of mods like this

It happened a few more times, albeit, much less widespread on the workshop.

There was a LIDAR addon for G-mod as well that many accused of being malicious. But I don't think anything came of it.

Since then lots of people have become weary of certain mods and the like, and, as you can see, that's not even contained to G-mod

@Lemonz The infamous "gluelibrary incident" was a series of events that unfolded on the Garry's mod workshop. From my knowledge and understanding, the addon "gluelibrary" created by a popular user, which many had downloaded as it was necessary for a number of mods, became infested with some sort of virus, or malicious code.

I believe it was the goatse (idk how to spell it) image that the original had contained.
I'll spare the details there, but suffice to say many were left disturbed when the image flashed oto their screen

Many other addons had also suddenly become infested with malicious code too, I'm not sure but I think most were also by the same creator.

@ActuallyAlek
If it's mod related, can you give details so I can figure out what the problem might be?

this is better than the other one because the other one takes up all your keybinds

Yeah you cant get viruses on steam unless you recreate the gluelibrary incident
