Zob

Description
Legendary Leader from the 2024 Modjam
Zob is a unique leader that can be found in the rare Zarulia system that will spawn randomly in the galaxy. Originally made for the Modjam competition, this is a standalone version. Zob was the 2nd place finalist as voted by the community.

Story
Zob is lonely. Once a billiion voices, now one. Zob is desperate to rekindle the feeling of connection the Hive once gave, and hopes to form a new collective out of your leaders. Finding and investigating the Zarulia system will uncover a tragic backstory, give you the opportunity to hire Zob, and eventually uplift the disconnected feral drones. Mechanically, Zob allows you to stack traits from different leaders over time, granting partial bonuses to every member of Zobs collective, and by the end of a campaign, accumulating considerable strength.

Spawning
The Zarulia system can spawn in a random nebula anywhere in the galaxy. It contains a Hive world and the Forlorn World archaeology site that begins Zob's recruitment event chain. Unlike the original modjam, the system is not weighted to spawn near the player, meaning it is relatively rare for you to actually be able to find and recruit Zob. This is meant to be a mod you keep in your load order so you can stumble across the system naturally rather than guaranteeing it nearby. Any AI empire that claims the system will not investigate the digsite and will not hire Zob.

Compatability
Generally compatible with most other mods. Requires a new game to spawn naturally, but console firing "event zob.100" will spawn the Zarulia adjacent to a system you own. Overwrites to the gamerules 'species_can_live_on_planet` and `species_has_happiness` to create special mechanics for uplifting feral Zob drones. Support included in Merger of Rules

does it need an update or does it work fine ?

I really wanted Zob to work like many of the other unique systems in the galaxy, a rare thing you can find but that wont appear (or at least wont be next to you) every game. However, if you use the Modjam version that had a spawning option at the start of the game that would guarantee it (I just dont really like added to the list of start game event pop ups)

Love the mod, only issue is Zob very often spawns on the other side of the galaxy. Is there a way to add an option to have it spawn closer to the player home-system? thanks!

Update: It works and I got the Boz colony working now

So that was very dumb of me, I tried "event zob.40" and zob popped up. I'll try to do the research on the planet again and hopefully it works

Sorry for the late reply. I tried "effect zob.40" but it doesnt do anything. No special project, nothing.

Alright I'll try zob.40

hmm, you completed the special project? The only thing that would prevent that from completing is if somehow the presapient pops on the planet were killed. The event that gives you the colony is zob.41, but it is a ship event (meant to happen to the science ship that completes the project) and that is going to be tricky to get to work with console commands. zob.40 should recreate the special project, you might have better luck trying that.

After I research and find a cure on my 2nd playthrough, it doesnt do anything. On my last game, it gave me the planet Boz as a colony with the cured hive right? But now its just stuck, it doesnt do anything.

Is there perhaps a command event that I can do to fix this?

huh, I have seen that too and had no idea why, Ill look into it
